Noob Questions: How do I attach my Toyo G Rails?

    Hello,

I recently acquired a Toyo 810G camera with two rails and 4 rail tripod mounts.

Both rails have a length of around 50cm/500mm.

One rail has a permanently affixed end cap that can screw into the other end cap.

The other rail has this caps that have detent release and no screw holes for the first end cap.

Also, the rails don't entangle well at all, they don't match up.

I got custom bellows so I need the full 1250mm rail length I hear is possible.

Can anyone help me figure out how to get the full rail length? What else do I need to buy? How do I attach the rails.

May I ask if anyone has made Omega View/Toyo View rails? It seems the diameter is an odd ball size and there is that length of guide rail/rotation prevention guide that would need to be welded or screwed in.

Thanks so much for reading this.
    Be well
    Happy holidays

    Best regards,
    Kevin H.

You need a 10" (250mm) Toyo extension rail that has female receptors at both ends. This is a picture of one currently on ebay. https://www.ebay.com/itm/11467015212...Cclp%3A2047675 Toyo rails for the GX, Robos, G, and GII are the same. Place the extension between your 2 500mm rails and you have a 1250mm rail.

    hello tgtaylor,

Thanks so much for the fast and helpful reply.

So, may I ask if you can tell me how my second rail (not the one with the fixed end cap on one end), will attach to the double sided female rail?

The second rail in question is completely hollow.

    Thanks!
    Be well

    Best regards,

These are the current Toyo rails:

    1. 250mm base rail with female threads at both ends
    2. 250mm extension rail with fixed cap at one end, male threaded rod at the other end
    3. 500mm extension rail with fixed cap at one end, male threaded rod at the other end

The second rail you have is for the Toyo 45C, the basic model. It was available in 250mm and 500mm lengths. It has detent caps at both ends, is hollow, and cannot accept extensions.

It looks like you have rail no. 3 and the 45C rail, but photos would be best to confirm. You will need a no. 1 and a no. 3. Let me know if you're willing to buy from Japan.
