Field of view, angle of view, and picture angle are completely different from angle of coverage, image circle, and covering power. These terms can get confusing.

I have a 90mm and a 75mm for my 4x5.
To my surprise the 90 sees much more use.

When using small format I’m a big fan of the 21mm, but I have found that when a tripod is involved I like to set up a bit further away from the scene and prefer a 90mm.

I am one of those who find that a center filter is not critical with a 90mm.

I've found that falloff is more noticeable on some shots than others even with the same lens and even with shooting color or BW. I don;t know why that is.

It could be the f-stop you are using on the lens.

Joe, R'stock and Schneider recommend stopping down at least two stops from wide open when using a CF. This isn't because of mechanical vignetting by a filter in front of the lens as you wrote on your site, it is because of mechanical vignetting by the lens' rear barrel.

Exactly my point. If it is used wide open, the CND filter will not give the same results as if stopped down.
