Running a Mac mini M1, 16Gb RAM, SSD and I always keep Photoshop/Lightroom updated.
Also using an SSD for a scratch disk, and my computer is very clean, minimal apps and I only use about 30% of the HD (also SSD).
Despite all this, I'm having lots of trouble getting Nik Software to run at normal speed in Photoshop.
It stalls, freezes, sometimes crashes, and lag time is terrible.
I contacted Dx0, they said Nik is still Intel-based, so to make it run better, I'd have to use Rosetta.
I downloaded Rosetta, and applied it to all the Nik apps I could. I also increased RAM in Photoshop to about 90%.
Now it works a bit better, but still not the smoothest.
Anyone else seeing the same thing on an M1 machine?
Also, does using Rosetta mean that I can use older versions of Nik software?
Version 2 was very smooth and easy, I miss that one.
Was using version 3, which had all the problems, now running a 30-day trial of version 4.
Thanks
