you need to place the two elements with the flat sides facing each other, figure out the optimum spacing between them then add an aperture stop in the middle. still gonna have terrible image quality though.
you have nothing to lose by trying.
now this is a pretty cool way to use those condeners... and its solar!

For a simple, single element LF lens you might want to check out a Wollaston landscape lens. Plenty of information on the net about them. And, something that could be home made if you are handy.
