Depends on the century and technology... 19th century (Daguerreotypes & collodion) was typically 4.25 x 5.5", 20th century (film) was usually 4.75 x 6.5". It seems to me that dryplate spanned both sizes.
I prefer Ilford Special order size

I have a De Vere Half-Plate drop-in tray from a 54 enlarger (a tax dodge; I am told that if an enlarger could work with half plate it was not liable to Purchase Tax). The next smaller size that will fit is 4-23/32" x 6-15/32". I hope that this helps.
Half Plate Japan FILM holder with Ilford UUK Special Order film
Note the holder is special as it fits ONLY where a Book Style holder would
