Ebay currently shows an original Korona 7x17 filmholder up for sale. What would be the maximum this is worth, relative to one of Sandy King's S&S holders new at around $360.00?
Maybe around $175.00 or so?

Interesting question... There is no "standard" for 7X17 holders - as a result, users of older cameras will quite often have to perform some surgery on either their cameras or holders to make new holders fit (the rib may not be in the right place etc.). This holder appears to be in very good condition so I would guess that it would go for in excess of $200 - maybe around $250 - there are a lot of 7X17 Koronas out there.

Yes, I am aware that there are no "standards." It's just that I've already got one just like it. Granted, no guarantees that surgery, as you rightly say, won't still have to be performed. And chances that measurements are the same are slim.
Think I'd be money ahead to buy new?

Yup, Don's right. Buddy of mine made a 12x20 and had to build the back around one of Sandy's holders.
I would buy new. Apart from the risk of balky darkslides if you can't check it out in person, you won't know true happiness until you've had the experience of having fine dirt particles routinely deposited over your $6 sheets of 7x17 film despite your best efforts to clean the holder.
I've owned many 7x17 Korona holders over the years and taken some apart to fix problems with light traps, baffles, etc. From the pix, this one appears to be in exceptionally good condition. I'd be a bit surprised if it went for less than $250. I bought my first Korona 7x17 in 1992. The camera with 3 holders, extension rail, etc, all in fantasitic condition, was $650. Ah, the good old days...
Wow. My brand new film holders are already in worse shape than that.
