I've only used it a few times, as I updated yesterday, but it does seem better. I use it regularly to make a mask for the subject/non subject. There's also a new subject mask tool in the tools palette.

Never tried it. Usually do masks manually. I will have to check out though once I am moved to temp house while new one designed and built.
I think the forum should ban discussions of Photoshop, the same way it banned discussions of politics and religion...
It just feels... icky.

I have had good results with Topaz Remask. Once you get to know the interface it produces a good mask, especially for tricky things like hair and trees.
I have both. I prefer the new Photoshop method.
