re celling Sinar DB shutter

Hi

I have a Symmar-S 210mm f5.6 in a Sinar DB shutter
If I swap the cells for those of a Macro Sinaron S 210mm F5.6
will the iris need recalibrating or is f5.6 in one lens of the same focal length the same as another

Be sure to check the spacing between the cells. Tried this in the 1980s with two similar lenses and got terrible results with the replacement cells. Turned out that the spacing was different for the replacement cells.

When ordering a DB conversion for a shuttered lens, Sinar asked the serial number and the brand of the lens to exact calibrate the DB conversion kit.
