I was drawn there while researching the Metrogon 6" on 8x10. I built a camera similar to his.

Seriously deranged, but cool precisely because. There was something about this that looked vaguely familiar, and browsing through the site reminded me that I saw his 1990 exhibit at the List Center at MIT:

I may have to adapt his cockroachicidal technology to zap mosquitoes and other vermin that get inside my Wisner.

    Hello jj,

Your Mr. Cook certainly seems fascinating, quirky, and funny too. Not surprised that you might be drawn to a person like that. Reminds me of (what I know of) you - i.e., always ready with a quirky and often acerbic remark.

In a world of (often - not always) straight-laced, rather "bookish," camera/lens/optics/hard data type heads, you have seemed to be quite refreshing at times.

The soup can always use a touch of spice, eh?

This one is shocking! It has a literary illusion. That looks like the bike that Robert Pirsig rode on his trip with his son and written as Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. I wonder if Cook knows that. Ah, I always wonder. No big deal.

BTW, I mounted a pair of matched 240mm lenses for stereo rather like his - no septum. Ended up making a mask of it. That's what I get for cleaning the shop near Halloween.

Mr Cook is a very interesting guy if you ever have a chance to talk with. His perspective is indeed very "illuminating"

I purchased a fine rebuildable 14x17 Rochester View from him several years ago.
