So I noticed that the diameter of the rear element is actually larger than the front element.

Front Lens: 45.56mm
Rear Lens: 45.58mm
Rear Barrel: 48.19mm

I have a sneaking suspicion that most shutters are the same diameter front and rear? So while the rear is at 48mm, the front is smaller. If I find a shutter that is 45mm then I would need to ensure that the overall length of the two lenses plus the shutter is ~50mm? Since the lenses are both 45, the barrel is 48 and the shutter is 48mm, that would indeed suggest the front element is missing a component.

Hi Sean,

I can’t speak for all Optimo shutters, but Jim_jm confirmed that Optimo #3 front and rear threads are identical. The unfortunate implication is that your lens is either missing an adapter or belongs in another, yet-to-be-identified shutter.
