    Nobody Home

    Chamonix 8x10 Graphic 360mm HP5+ Developed in D76
Ive shot this place before with both Digital and LF and I just love the way that the LF renders this image compared to digital. Shot at f45 1/125

Really like this very peaceful scene. I'm just curious, though, about the exposure used, as my calcs indicate that with HP5 it should have resulted in an underexposure of at least two stops. The scene's luminance does not appear to be very brilliant. Any further comments to offer?

it was shot at around 9 am in Malaysia where is was very bright and windy, I wanted the higher shutter speed as I wanted the rice sharp............the developed neg looked pretty much like this.

Malaysia is also practically on the Equator. Much different Sunny 16 conditions than the latitude of Seattle I'd suspect this time of year.

Never would have suspected that latitude would cause about two stops difference than typical Seattle ... live and learn.

Sunny 16 would be f45 @ 1/60th for a bright, sunny day? That's one stop difference. Are you adding a stop for diffused shadows?

Yes. The shadows are definitely diffused, apparently due to a bit of some visible cloud cover.
