    New to me Horseman

    Hi Guys,

I just decided to get back into 4x5 after about 15 years. Past experience with just with a Crown Graphic. So I find this nice Horseman L bracket that I thought was a an LX model. So as I am becoming familiar with it I noticed a couple of things. First is that there is a control on both standards that allows for tilting at the bottom. I can't find a manual or any literature that shows that. So can anyone tell me what model this really is and how do I use those controls? Next is there are a couple small knobs on the vertical inside of the L brackets that all for rise and removal of the standard. Is there any utility in that? Thanks for any advice.

All Horseman are very well made.

    I really like them.

Yours is best for studio use as it's heavy, but heavy is good in studio usage.

One Horseman accessory I'd seriously consider acquiring is a Horseman Exposure Meter 45. Years ago did a project that involved shooting close-ups of fall colored leaves. Was shooting 1:1 to a x4 magnification. Entailed shooting about 200 4x5 chromes. With the Horseman meter and a little bit of interpolation for the exposure, ended up with nearly all perfectly exposed chromes. And the ones that were off exposure were never more that + or - 1/3 f/stop. Since then regularly use the meter for landscape photography even though I own 2 Zone VI modified spot meters.
