Print Washer Hose Connection

Sorry for a complete noob question here, but I just got my first actual print washer, and the hose on it has a connector at the end that looks like this:



I have no idea what to buy to attach this to my faucet. Is there some kind of cone shaped adapter that would fit into this plastic bowl thing? It's got a little bit of stretch to it, but not nearly enough that it seems like it could fit over a normal faucet

Your idea is right, you're supposed to jam it over the end of the faucet. Obviously won't work with many 'stylish' modern taps. Some improvisation may be required here.

Huh, shame they didn't make it more stretchy then. I wonder if I should try stretching it out a little with some pliers

Submerge it in a pot of hot water for 5 minutes, it will become more pliable and should fit your faucet. You could also cut the end off and splice something that would fit your tap, especially if it is threaded.

Can you post a picture of the tap, showing both the inside and outside for threads? If it has an external thread, that thread is most likely a standard garden hose size, in which case the adapter linked to in post #5 would work if the hose size fits over the adapter, in which case an adjustable hose clamp like this should be used to tighten the hose to the adapter. If the tap does not have an external thread, a different solution will be necessary.

I'm using a garden hose quick connector set to connect a print washer, Jobo Cascade, and a hose to the shower thermostat in my darkroom. Works simply and reliably.

Thanks, I think this is exactly what I need. I've already got a quick release adapter for a garden hose on my faucet, so that oughta do the trick
