    Nice. I've always had trouble scanning slide film and when I want color I usually shoot Portra 160 or 400. Any tips on scanning Provia?

    If your problem is in the highlights I would say be sure not to clip your highlights during the scan. Just open it up a bit with the sliders for the shadows and dark values. Some scenes demand slides others work with negative film. That's how I operate. I also tend to overexpose a notch (say rate Provia 100 at 80) because I find a lighter slide is easier to suck the shadow detail out of when scanning.

    Somehow, engine #102 of the Georgia Northern ended up in Currie, MN! Built in 1923. It made a great subject for me to try out my newly mounted lens--an 1862 12 inch Voigtlander Petzval! Mounted on a 1925 Gundlach Korona shooting Lane dry plate. Exposure and processing went perfectly! I love this lens already! Used the f16 stop.
