    Very interesting process.

Dear Randy, it's not a DIYed emulsion.
It's a production line. The line came from the UK. So, the original sizes were 912 and 18x24.
I just got the 8x10 testing samples.
I will get new 912 samples and new holders for 912 and 8x10 soon.

Tell us more about where the coating line came from in the UK, and when.

Many of us in the UK have seen the Ilford plate line demonstrated on factory tours. The line itself is not that sophisticated - it doesn't need to be, but the coating head is.

Well, this is interesting! Will the plates and holders be commercially available?

The coating line is in Tianjin, China.
It mainly produced X-ray plates for industrial metal detection of the flaws. It also produced the dry plates.

Dear Kevin, I believe the coating line owner would let the dry plates and holders commercially. He is a photographer, too. That's why he had to produce the holders same time because the dry plate photography needs more holders than the Wet plate Collodion activities.
He also bring the dry plates to pass the Metro, train and airport X-ray checking. The results are positive. The international logistics are no problem, too.
Hoping to see the good result in the near future.

Yes, I suggested him to make 5x7 plates and holders although 5x7 has less users.
We also can book larger plates than 8x10 sizes.
