Hmm, looks like a selfie pole to me.
This is great as it gives the "selfee" a new portrait look of convulsion stiffness and pain as opposed to the current image of an enlarged brow and eyes tapering to a vanishing alien chin.

Maybe a lighter weight camera on a lighter weight pole (with a counter weight?) would help.
