    Hello from France

    Hi everyone,

Now that I've just received my first 8x10 camera today, I felt I can officially join this forum.
I've been shooting 4x5 for several years now, first on an Anniversary Speedgraphic then on a Toyo 45C, but 8x10 seems like the real deal. LOL

Since I own my own little film lab, I'm so looking forward to shooting 8x10 E6 and be in owe in front of the light table soon!

    Greetings all!

    Lionel.

    Bienvenue Lionel !

"...in awe..." Hope to be myself eventually looking at E6 sheet film (hopefully, the cost of chromes will suffice to restrain my photographic enthusiasm as currently, X-Ray sheet film being so cheap, it fails me in that respect)

Edit : Also, please let us know in which region of France you are located.

    Lionel,

A French textbook publisher owes me for several photographs they used. But they claim they can not pay me via PayPal or write a check.

Do you have any ideas how I might be paid?

    Thank you.

I don't see any problem to do an international bank transfer. Send them your bank account number (must be an IBAN + your bank physical address + your bank SWIFT code). The publisher will have to pay bank fees for the transaction. Your bank will also charge you few bucks for receiving the money from overseas bank (this is quite common with US banks). You might loose few dollars in bank fees & currency exchange rates but at least you will get your money. Did you send them a tax invoice by any chance?

    Welcome to the forum, Lionel.

Shooting 8x10 is a lot of fun. Which 8x10 did you get?

    Re: Hello from France

    Merci Pierre !
I just bought some very expired (1994) 8x10 Fujichrome for cheap from someone who has kept them refrigerated since purchase in order to test my ability to process E6 8x10 film with my newly acquired CL81 reel for my home-based commercial lab on my Jobo ATL2200 processor. If I can pull it off without problematic issues I'll save up for some fresh Chrome.
I also ordered some X-ray film and Keep my eyes open for some cheap film holders.

I am in the center of France, in the Auvergne region.

    Thanks for replying.
In addition Paypal works fine to send money to the USA, but it requires to have a Paypal account and to pay some Paypal fees.
