This is the LF camera I started with. I now have about 4 of various types, but I've never known exactly which model this Cambo monorail is. In the grand scheme of things, it likely doesn't matter, but I figure I should know.
TIA

That looks like part of the SC series, after 1980 or so.
I can never keep the models straight, but it's one of the later ones (round focus knobs with rubber tread) and the fancy one (with numerical scales for focus, tilt, and rise/fall). The early ones had lobed solid knobs, and the lower models didn't have scales on them. The other deluxe feature is the revolving back, rather than a back that flips from H to V, only. Probably it has a 21" rail, rather than the 19" rail, too?
Does that make it an SC2?

Thanks, but I'd rather just watch:

It's like mine, which is a SC, but SC series were very hard differentiate.

It does have a 21" rail and when I googled the SC2, it did look like the examples I saw. Guess that's what it is?
Thanks all! Without being pointed in the right direction, it would have taken a lot longer.
Bethe, in the beginning the Super Cambo number (-1, -2, -3, -4) indicated the camera's size. 2x3, 4x5, 5x7 and 8x10 respectively. An SC-2 isn't a second series Super Cambo, it is a 4x5 Super Cambo.
The things were made for many years with running changes and, sometimes, name changes that I haven't been able to keep straight. In my tiny mind a Cambo view camera with a square rail is an SC, end of that confusing discussion. This isn't quite Cambo's view.
In my tiny mind also.
Looks a good deal like my SCX which is labeled on the front end of the rail. Does yours not have that front cap? I think that more of the SC series may have also been labeled there.

Yeah, you and me both. Then there are the Calumet models too. I can't figure some of them out.
I started with an old SC. I've owned a Legend, a Master and several I'm not sure what they were. I used to buy monorail outfits with lenses and part them out and resell for profit on Ebay. I'd just list the unknown ones as a Cambo or Calumet and no one seemed to care what the designation was.
Tiny minds. Is that like simple minds?
