a little soft for my liking.. but I am also using a humungous softbox..so mayhaps I'll try a silver umbrella with it

Bill,
Wow! I love the fall off effect and the shadows on the model and on the dress. I hope the model was pleased with the results. I am.
I'm curious about the lighting. What is a fresnel hot light? Maybe I'm just ignorant of studio gear as most of my experience is landscape in natural light. I've never seen a hot light with a fresnel on it.
Chris
Chris,
Thanks. I'm pretty happy with the light falloff and hightlights. I'm not sure if the model was happy, she didn't say much about the photos but she liked the camera. I'm still working on doing the George Hurrell style.
It's a ALTMAN #65Q 6" FRESNEL STAGE LIGHT. http://altmanltg.com/fresnels-65Q-165Q.htm Attachment 135734
I've been using 500W bulbs. I use big oven mitts to move them around when they get hot. I try to only turn them on when needed.
