Not a crazy idea by any means. I sometimes use a DPA 4060 miniature mike, one on each ear. DPA now sells a headset that can be used to place two of these mikes inside one's ears, which purists will tell you is necessary for "proper" binaural results. DPA also sells a miniature preamp (MMA-A) that will easily fit in a shirt pocket and that can be used to record the sound from the mikes to an iPhone.
This video was recorded with two 4060 mikes, one on the outside of each ear. As you know, but some reading this may not, one should wear headphones for this video.

Some may notice that there are very few B&H customer reviews for these components. That isn't a reflection on DPA. Purchasers of DPA microphones tend to purchase them from specialist sound shops.

Been following Asmrers and wondering what mikes they use and how they get such clean sound without background

This soft spoken virtual reality shift meditation uses the train method. No script is needed, simply follow my instructions. The audio is 8D so if you wear earphones you will have a 360 degree, fully immersive experience. As this an ASMR reality shift is includes multiple ASMR triggers for sleep and relaxation. It also includes an induction using a Tibetan Singing Bowl and concludes with a deep sleep induction and extended sleep soundscape.
For decades I have slept to classical music to mask my loud Tinnitus
This one is a 7 hour video of a sleeper as if beside me, so real, I use nearly every night
