    Re: December 2014 Portraits

I am sorry to give you that impression but believe me there is no particular reason. She just want to try wearing a series of mask. Here near Venice in Italy there is a sort of tradition of masking especially in this season. But believe me there is no project behind tis few shot of my wife. It was just a boring afternoon and i had to test the light that i self made and a lens that was repaired. No second meaning or other deep meanings. What about the cooking pot. well i don't see nothing bad on her wearing that kind of helmet. She is wearing a gas mask and an helmet. We were joking.

It feels like the woman is being objectified (if that's the right word) and the photographs come across as tasteless. I mean what is the point of covering the face and having her wear a corset/lingerie then adding some sort of cooking pot on top of her head?

Maybe she is a disciple of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. The colander is the religious headgear of the church of the FSM.

What’s with the gas mask I don’t know. Kinda tired cliché for edgy portraits.

Hehe. Somehow I read your comment in an Italian accent in my head.

Actually this is my favorite. I don't get any objectifying out this series, they definitely look like humorous escapades to me. The colandar on the last one makes it.

The light that was reflected by the cocking device on her head create that kind of aura that is not visible in the other picture. The lens is uncoated and the parasite light could be very dangerous.

Yes i am happy that you understand the mood of this series of pictures. She is my wife and i was joking, playing with her. We took that picture for fun without any deeper meaning.
