    Rebuilding a Kodak 2D

So who has rebuilt a Kodak 2D. I have removed everything to the extent I can leaving only the name plate and side brackets (photo).
I would like to know if the side bracket will come off so they can be put back or are they as I think riveted on and need to be drilled out.
Has anybody gone this far. Ideas?
Second question how can I remove the name plate without damaging it.

I drilled out the ones on my Century and replaced them with these screw-in replacements (right lower):

That's a idea, the other thought was I could thread the existing/leftover shaft and put some nutcerts into the frame. Have options now anyway.

Turns out the name plate come off easy too, just slipped a craft blade under and it lifted off.

I worked around mine on an Agfa-Ansco 8x10. Basically the same type of set-up.

Shane, I left mine with a machinist last week. He was going to grind down the inside of the rivet and thread the shaft as you suggest. I will pick it up today or tomorrow and post pics so you can see how it came out.

okay, here are the pics. what he did was grind off the inside of the rivet that had been peened down, then drill and tap the rivet shaft and fit in a small machine screw. so I get to keep the original hardware look on the outside and the small screw on the inside retains the low profile of the original rivet.
