    Printing onto silver paper

Not sure if this has been talked about, my apologies in advanced if it has.

Has anyone had any experience in running a silver print through the printer? I want to take a finished silver print and then run it through my digital printer and print some words onto of the paper. has anyone done this?

I expect that would depend on the printer technology.

Inkjet printers typically operate at room temperature. As long as the ink doesn't run, it should work.

Laser printers on the other hand have a hot "fuser" that operates after the toner is deposited.
The emulsion would probably not like that.

Another point to consider is paper handling, and radius of curvature if it goes around a roller.
I expect it would be much happier going through the printer flat, like heavy poster paper.

I think cut sheet paper should go through, but I would be worried if the paper was not flat.

I don't know of any printer inks which will stick on the emulsion.

You can write on it with a Sharpie pen or other felt-tips.

    Why would printer ink fail?
