    Identify this LF Camera

    Hi,

I have this LF camera and am thinking of selling it, although I cannot find any markings on it to identify the model number apart from the fact that it was manufactured by Kodak (Manufactured By Kodak Ltd Kingsway London. W.C.2.)

I would appreciate it if anyone could help me to identify the model of this camera. How much would a camera like this go for?

    Regards
    Joe

I recently bought a British made half plate Kodak Specialist 2 at a fair for £50 UKP. Although the bellows are knackered and it needs a fair bit of work I would say by your photoes that my Kodak is in far better condition than yours. Mine dates from the first half of the 1950's.

    Re: Identify this LF Camera

There are several reasons this would not sell for much. It's an unknown type (at least to me, but the brass handles and fittings do not look American). It has a weird, 3x2 or smaller back retrofitted. Most people only want a large camera if they can shoot large film. Otherwise, they'd buy a Speed Graphic or such. I'm not sure what that back is supposed to do even, maybe it was a scientific or medical fitting. Basically, unless it happens to be some collectible type I don't recognize, you'd be lucky to get 30 Pounds. If you want to see what it might do, you can put it on Ebay with no reserve, and a starting bid of .99 cents. You never know, a couple people could fight over it and you could get 100 bucks.

if you put a 'buy now' for 100 bucks...125 bucks even (plus shipping) , that outta sell

it's got good hardware - and there are more than a few of us that enjoy building franken-cameras

I might even pay 100 if it weren't for the shipping

    Garrett,
It ain't American. It was made in England see the OP.
Intrestingly I was on a London bound train yesterday and was suprised to see that Kodak still have a facility near Wealdstone in the London suburbs. This factory has been there for at least 60 years to my knowledge. I'd love to know what they do there.

I'm thinking that the back is 4x5 and the camera is gigantic (Look at the tiny knobs). What's the width and height of the frame that is the back?

OP means original poster. In this case, that would be you.

    The dimensions are Length (900mm) x Height (600) x Width (480).

Hey jyamen, No links to your eBay listing on this site.

READ the rules. What if everyone who joins here asks us the "How much is is worth" question and then cross promotes their eBay sells here. Soon enough, That's what every other post will be .

Sorry if this seems rough but it's true.
