When my father passed away last month, I inherited his negatives (50,000+). As I've been working to organize them, I regularly come across gems like the one below.

My father took this photograph of my younger sister and brother in 1963. He shot it with Tri-X. The lighting is coming from our TV and a window nearby. When viewing this 50+ year old negative on my light table, it looks like it was shot last week. I love black and white film.

Sorry to hear about your father; judging from that wonderful photo, he must have been a fine photographer, and he certainly passed that on to you.

Thanks for the kind words Ari. While I'm clearly biased, I think Dad was a terrific photographer. I try to channel him often when making my own images.

Me to, sorry for your lost, I just can't believe this is Tri-X... Incredibly grain-less,

Jeff; you have inherited some good photography genes or raised well with a camera at an early age.

ChrisM; I'm headed up your way next month!

terrific, Jim. 'Don't know the medalist well, but the glass from that era render like nothing I know of from a later date. I use a super ikonta for a similar feel to a shot.
