Is there a rumor of newer Epson 3880?

I'm thinking of getting one but it came out 4 years ago...and if there is a newer version coming soon, I would wait. Does anybody know?

I just bought a 3880 (to complement my wonderful 3800) so a replacement is not a rumor, it's a fact.

I been shopping - for new iteration of R3000, Pro-1, or 3880. The dealers I did speak with expect at least 2 more years for the 3880, and not likely at all for any new pro printers this year. Maybe in Spring 2014, maybe. And so far Epson does not look like offering the previous $250 or $300 rebates on the 3880, just the $200. Yes we all wish...

Just realized yesterday when I updated to OS 10.9 that the Epson V700 is pretty darn ancient too.

The 3880 is a magnificent printer, a much better printer than the V700 is a scanner.

I'd be a bit wary of any replacement, since there's no guarantee it will be as reliable and clog-free as the original. The 3880 is the only printer I've loved.
