DeVere timer buzz

I have just bought two DeVere timers, one for a 504 Dichromat and one for a 5108 Dichromat

The 5x4" power control box now buzzes when the timer is used rather than no timer and using the "focus" switch for manual exposure. Is this normal? The sound is not nice

The 5109 has an old Jobo timer with a dirty time setting that needs to be rolled a few times before it settles. However, with the DeVere timer the lamp house does not work at all and looking inside the plugs the wiring is very different. Problem is the timer connection is in European colours and the DV timer is in UK colours. This is compounded by the fact the 5108 is a manualised closed loop machine running through a different, but original DV power box with a great big relay inside to switch the lamp house on and off cleanly and that lead has USA colours as it used to come from a USA computer

Does anyone have experience with these two things and is there a wiring diagramme out there better than the one with the enlarger please

Did the 5109 ever work?
To what do the relay contacts connect? A power supply or the enlarger lamp directly?
What is the coil voltage on the relay?
What voltage do you have in your darkroom?
What voltage is the enlarger lamp or power supply?
Can you get another timer that is in good working condition?
Can you scan and post the wiring diagram that came with the enlarger and pictures of what equipment you are trying to hook up ?
