What is going on at Flicker?

Flicker has undergone two major changes tthis year. This last change has really messed up a group I participate in, "Blind Photographers Group". It is very busy and confusing to navigate. and has become less accessable to those members who use a screen reader to access written content.

Any way to get back to the screen presentation from say, six months ago?

The head honch at yahoo is what happened. No, you can't go back to the usable flickr.

i don't use any of those sites but i a few weeks ago I went on MySpace just to see what has gone on in the past couple years

it's impossible to navigate. Now you cant even hover things to see what they do
it's just ..click stuff and pray

    it looks cool
    but isn't good for anything

i hate it when sites upgrade
its almost always just fashion and the user experience suffers

apug.org anyone? I barely go on that site anymore. Can't stand the million choices of forums and subforums and languages and
    paralyzed on these sites

If you're wanting to read group discussions you could try a feed reader.

online example of a feedreader: http://feedreader.com/myfeeds/add.ht...rmat%3Drss_200
Most email applications have a feed reader built in, such as Outlook and Windows Live Mail.
You would need the link and insert it in a feed reader: http://ycpi.api.flickr.com/services/...format=rss_200
It will give a post by post feed of the discussions, rather than a topic by topic view.
You'd need to go to the actual website to reply to a discussion though, but you can do that directly from the feedreader.

If you're just looking to see images in a more clear, less cluttered environment you should look at the flickriver site.

A bunch of monkeys typing code in a room, led by an idiot, I'd say.

Flickriver is pretty good, Flickrhive is another fast option.

What-the-Flicker was wrong with how flicker used to be six months ago . . .or even last week?

Why do I (we) need to use a feeder reader or even know about it? Why should I have to down-load or link-up with anything . . .it USED to work fine for me and the other members of our group.

The current iteration will kill the Blind Photographers Group on flicker.

I have become a formerly gruntled Flicker user.

I don't like flickr at all anymore, cancelled my subscription which is due to be renewed in a few months, cant understand why they wanted to change it, I thought it was great the way it was
