It is a little flatter with the white border, but some people (such as Ken) like it a little flat. I think a little flat suits the mood portrayed. Generally I like polaroid borders and alt process borders, as long as they aren't 'shopped on.

Although, I am certainly a 'Big Fan' of Polaroid Borders; I too must agree with Ken on this one...

I certainly like his 'Version' of the Image better... But I just noticed that you 'cheated' (*All in good 'jest' Ken!) -- By lowering the 'Contrast' of the Image 'considerably'...

Now, it is a *** 'Superb' *** Image! LOL.
    Best,

I love this one. Are you using some form of contrast control such as flashing or dilute developer?

Sunday was our annual Gay Pride parade here in Montreal, I tried something new (for me): I went to the 'gay village' after the parade, and set up on a street corner with my 1888 ROC Universal w/ 5x7 reducing back, an 8" Busch Aplanat from about 1905, LUC shutter, and a box of expired Tri-X. I took 26 photos in all of people walking on the street. I'm cleaning them up now to post in an online gallery for the people who stopped, I've promised them hi-res scans if they email me. My scanner can't handle the highlights, so this is not the final version by far; I'm setting up the dSLR tonight with a film hanger, white backdrop and a flash.

They look a bit like the Edge and Bono.

Tough, they are totally different pictures, each of them strong on their own.
I have always been a fan of harder, grittier pix.

I think for me it would be in between those two, but closer to the original. Ken's version looks a little flat and the window doesn't look white anymore, and I don't mind some real shadows.
