I can't decide which version I like, mind the flare.
The first was shot with ambient light from the windows and front porch for the entire exposure.
Acros100 Rodinal, 210mm f32@2 minutes
Second one had no ambient light, and the reindeer were lit for about 4 seconds and then shut off.
Acros100 Rodinal, 210mm f32@10 minutes
I think I like the second one better, but it's going to be a lot harder to print, the darks had to be brought up in the background, probably some split printing ahead of me and some serious dodging if I choose the second one to print.
Michael & Stone, thanks.
Over the 8 min exposure, I gave the foreground area around the statue 5 passes of light painting. Since A. Jackson & the canons are bronze, they needed more time during each pass.
I just went by feel..under lighting them is more of a concern to balance out the illumination coming off of the White House then over lighting.
One time would have been enough... Sorry. Thierry M.L.
