just learned of Big Talbot Island near Jacksonville, FL. Looks to be very photogenic
+3 for Montana de Oro. Just about any beach from San Simeon to beyond Oceano are superb. I'd also add Jalama Bch, as well.

I visited this beach about 3 weeks ago and have to agree that its one of the more interesting beaches among the N. Calif offerings. If you google Bowling Ball Beach you'll get a slew of shots taken of this remarkable rock formation. Thus stimulated, I went there and wasted an hour going to the south beach which was interesting but had no balls (!). The long hike back northward ended with the "ladder" descent which was a bit harrowing with mounted gear, enough so that it was on my mind later as darkness approached. The good thing was that there were no people on a huge beach with great rock formations. I waited quite a while for the tide to come up around the rocks and then found movement in the image when I got home... tripods don't like sand for long exposures!!!

This had me curious about the states w/ the longest seacoasts – here’s the top 10:
1. Alaska: 6,640 miles
2. Florida: 1,350 miles
3. California: 840 miles
4. Hawaii: 750 miles
5. Louisiana: 397 miles
6. Texas: 367 miles
7. North Carolina: 301 miles
8. Oregon: 296 miles
9. Maine: 228 miles
10. Massachusetts: 192 miles
Really surprised that Massachusetts sneaked in at #10, but why no love for Alaska?
Must be lonely at the top. ;^)
There are only three in the U.S. -- Point Lobos, Acadia National Park, and Miami South Beach.
