That’s really beautiful. Nice job retaining detail in trunks and foreground without blowing out the background.

Those are great! I really like the first one.
I had a black version years ago when I was younger and stronger. It was definitely a load to carry around. The weight of it, for me, inspired naps, not photos.
And yet, I still like the image. It’s an artistic record of the eclipse and one that I would hang on my wall.
Magnificent!
That’s very well done. Nice composition and light.
That is so beautiful.
I really like that image. Very atmospheric.
For years, I used a Calumet CC401 with the 22-inch rail. It came with a nice case that I lugged around outside, but never venturing far from my car. The case was multipurpose— a handy step-stool when...
I agree.
Ditto what others have said. I use it without issue at 1:9.
Very nice!
That every good black-and-white photograph must — MUST, I tell you — have a good black and a good white. I’ve never agreed with this doctrinaire assertion.
Bronson’s character probably never discussed Scheimpflug with anyone.
Yes. I was in Midwest Photo recently and was surprised, as you were, to see Ilfotec priced at, I think, around $92. I have a bottle of HC110 that I purchased from Freestyle a few months back, and it...
Hi Philip,
I do the same. I have one small OC safelight that I bounce off the ceiling over my sink. It’s quite dim, but it works for me.
My darkroom is only about 5-feet-wide, by about...
"You appear to be correct."
Wow! Thank you, Doremus. The last time I was correct about anything was sometime back in the 1970s, but I can't recall the exact date.
Anyway, I'm glad I don't...
Tremendous!
That’s really nice. Good tonality.
Doremus, I certainly will defer to you on all things darkroom related, but the data sheet that came with my Fomatone MG Classic glossy paper states that orange safelight or another "type of safety...
Beautiful photo. My wife and I visited the Finger Lakes area last summer and really enjoyed it.
Drew, I really enjoy reading your posts. Humorous and full of great info gleaned from what I gather is years of experience.
Beautiful!
Excellent photograph. I had a similar situation last spring near Marfa, Texas, shooting the Prada store art exhibit. Had my 4x5 set up with no one other than my wife present, when a young couple...
Excellent. Very striking image.
Thanks, Daniel. It does make sense. Appreciate it.
Thank you for that link!
Thank you, Darr!
To go from vertical to horizontal, do you remove the back and reattach it, or does the back revolve? The manual simply says “turning the back through 90 degrees” does it, but is there some kind of...
That is a beauty
Thank you! Still acclimating myself to the camera. I’m sure I’ll eventually develop Norma muscle memory after I work with the camera more.
Thanks, Daniel, for the link. My adapter board actually takes the Linhof boards. I also have a bag bellows for it. By the way, does the Norma have any way to lock the focus?

The UPS man brought me a Sinar Norma today, and at first blush I must say it’s the finest monorail view camera I’ve ever owned. I purchased it from B.S. Kumar in Japan. It arrived in...
I like your work, John. Maybe if you had yelled to the property owner that you would give him/her a print, they would have called off the dogs.
Beautiful work, Philip. Congratulations.
That is beautiful. I can never find misty woods.
Thank you, Daniel.
I’m using (trying to use) a Sekonic Dual Spot meter gifted to me by my brother. It replaces my stolen Pentax V Analog, which I loved. My age-atrophied brain is struggling to figure out this complex...
What do the thin, stalk-like metal knobs do on the Norma?
That’s beautiful!
