I had one of Beseler 45 series enlarger with this color head. I dismantled the enlarger when the electric motor died. Not sure if I still have the lamp or not, but it should fit the 45 series...

Sorry to read about Jan's passing. I remember Jan when he was a photography instructor at Mount San Antonio College, (MtSac), in Walnut California. He was always in a cheerful mood and could always...
ericantonio,
There is an annual gathering of photographers, that is held in Orange County.
The last gathering was held in April of 2019. Hopefully, we will have one this year as well.
For...

Add my name to the list.
Pepe,
If you get a chance to attend the Bargain Camera Shows. http://bargaincamerashows.com
You can usually find older camera gear for sale at good prices.
Back in the early 80's one of the photo galleries in Los Angeles had an exibit of Penn's "Worlds In A Small Room". It listed the camera used by Penn as a TLR Rollei and film was Kodak Tri-X.
Kleiny,
Korona 8X10 will use the same lens board as a Kodak 8X10 2D. And yes, they are 6X6 inches.
What is the current market value of this model Sinar?
A friend of mine, has an almost mint condition Sinar F and is thinking of selling it without a lens.
I have a Zone VI or Alpina model...
Considering that this is a 4 year old post. I hope that the OP has a moved on from his "student budget", to something better :)
I don't know if anybody has mentioned this already, but I have noticed if I stop down on the enlarging lens, as opposed to having the enlarging lens wide open. I can then sometime see more grain in...
August in the Southwest, equals HOT weather. Be sure to dress accordingly and drink plenty of liquids (non alcoholic of course).
Consider the heat and film storage too.
Although I have...
One of my favorite tripods is my Majestic with a large 6"x6" square platform.
I was recently trying to photograph some sunflowers in my yard. I was using my Zone VI camera with my vintage Ries...
One of my dark cloths, has the velcro sewn in the corners.
My other dark cloths do not. What I like to use with those cloths to keep from going all over the place, are the inexpensive plastic...
Luis,
Thanks for the tip. I have been searching for a shutter for my Dagor 8 1/4" cells. Do you think the cells are a direct drop in?

principiante,
Take a look in the For Sale section of this forum. You may find a lens or two that you can use.
Could you also indicate where you are located?
You didn't indicate what type...
Jos,
Welcome and best wishes on your LF journey.

Oscar,
Estoy un poco bobo, pero si se donde queda Uruguay :)
Hello and welcome to the forum.
Oscar, your best bet would be to obtain another roll film holder. Not sure what other brands, other than the Rollex brand, can be used with your camera.
2x3...
This is a bit of advice I was given by Carol Miller of Flutot's Camera Repair.
When using a NEW cable release. File down or sand the tip of the cable release. Sometimes the NEW cable release has...
Welcome and best wishes on your new adventure.

I have never seen or heard of an 8X18 2D.
The extension rail. What size 2D is it for? 5x7, full plate, 8x10, 7X11, 11x14 ?
Kevin,
You can use that free light source, aka the sun, instead of UV bulbs. That is the old school method of printing.
Alex,
There is a Sally Mann video on UTube that shows her using the back of her Chevy Suburban Truck, to make her plates. It looks quite simple and I think it has less room than your setup.

I use one, primarily just to scan the smaller formats.
You can scan 4x5 format, but just at a lower dpi. If you try to increase the image quality, it takes forever with my computer. Sometimes,...
Ryan,
An 8x10 camera should not be easier to focus than a 4x5 with a f5.6 lens. Unless the 8X10 had a brighter lens or a brighter ground glass, than your Sinar. All of my 8X10 lenses are darker...
I wouldn't spend my money on enlarging lenses until you decide to set up your own personal darkroom. I developed and printed at my local college for many years. Most lab techs take pride in setting...
I look at it this way.
You can always make a fuzzy photograph with a sharp lens, but you can't make a sharp photograph with a fuzzy lens.
I leave the fuzzy lenses for portraits. :)
One thing to consider when traveling with a dog, is that some of the National Parks, do not permit dogs especially in the back country. Not sure how well the Rangers will enforce this policy. The...
Umm. You do have a dark focusing cloth, don't ya Doc? :)
Steve,
Where are you located? That would help. Prices are not the same thru out the world. If you are located in Patagonia or in the Goby Desert, it may be harder to find equipment at...
Some 8X10 holders are made for plate holders, but can be fitted to hold film. However, they are thicker than the standard film holder.
The price is a bit high, considering that the shutter may need a CLA.
I am familiar with the name Clark County in WA. My niece and her husband just purchased a home in that area.
As for lenses in the 135mm range. I purchased a Carl Zeiss Tessar f4.5 or 3.5, don't...
I would save those lenses for portrait prints. Kinda soften up them thar wrinkles :)
kmack,
I have the 5x7 version of your camera. Many of the Kodak 2D series parts are interchangeable with the Eastman View No.2.
If you find a Kodak 2D 8X10 back, it will fit your camera. ...
Very nice image.
Is the Jag, British Racing Green?
Peakbagger,
Where are you located?
Kenneth,
Welcome to the Large Format Forum.

PS, enjoy the negative carriers :)
"What I don't know:
It's a black tray, two pieces, appears to lock together pretty well so I'm thinking it's light-proof? There's a little metal clasp at one end. It's been used, the plastic is...
