Yes, I know what they look like. I have the second one.
But the S in WS doesn't series. That'd make this page very silly sounding.

You need the right part of the archive.

You'll also save over half the weight!
There's also the Nikkor-T 720mm:

Two recent shots on an IQ160 and a Mamiya 80mm f/1.9.

My 5x7 camera is DIY adapted from 4x5 Bender kit camera. It's great.
The Nikon 120SW's weight isn't bad (610g) when you consider that the 165mm Super Angulon is 1605g. Of course, 610 is still about double your G Claron.
There's always the regular Angulon 165mm,...
What 125mm are you using?
My 11x14 lenses:
Schneider Angulon 210mm f/6.8 (late production serial#)
Schneider Xenar 300mm f/4.5
Fujinon A 360mm f/10
Rodenstock Ronar MC 480mm f/9
Nikon Nikkor-T 800mm f/12
Some of...
The Nikkor-T ED 800 is the longest lens I have for my 11x14. Works like a charm.
I think it was originally barrel mounted. But its threads are #3s, like many Fujinon lenses.
I have a Fujinon A 360mm f/9 that's mounted in a Copal #3 instead of f/10 in a Copal #1.
Honestly, if you have posted it to buy-sell here...
My nephew on Mamiya AFDIII IQ160+45mm f/2.8.

Having movements from a large image circle and also cat-eye bokeh are two competing things. The cat's eye is mechanical vignetting and mechanical vignetting also impacts the size of the image circle....
No picture, but my 11x14, tripod (no head), and Fujifilm A 360mm comes in at 23.4lb.
Half my weight is the tripod.
I mean, that's one of the major strengths of Wikipedia: you're told about a disputes and you can read different positions on the respective discussion pages.
I missed focus because I was looking at the split image prism rather than the focusing dot and also probably moving a bit myself (sigh), but here's the Mamiya 80mm f/1.9 wide open on a IQ160 back...
An 800mm lens at f/22 on 14x16 would be equivalent to ~672mm f/18 on 11x14. The crop factor for DoF between the two formats is .84x.
I made an Acrylic 1 gal talk for 11x14 that works well. Still a lot of developer, but if I expose all three of my holders, it comes out alright.
All Fujinon-C lenses in all focal lengths are the same four element design. None are telephotos.
There is, however, a separate Fujinon-T series of telephoto lenses and that includes a 600mm f/12...
The 120mm SA is well known for covering 8x10 despite official specs otherwise, I believe the hope is that the same is true for the 165.
According to the official specs, yes, but no room for movements.
That's pretty close! I came in at 11lbs.
Most of the parts are stock pieces by companies like SmallRig designed to film makers building out cinema cameras and then standard Arca Swiss rails for focusing—a 400mm rail and then two 200mm rails...
Finally get to take out my new 11x14 out for some shooting this next week.

Mine is also a late one. 47.5 is what I have, too.
Brand new build from Walnut. I bought bellows this time. I made the basic frames from 2020 t-slot. No rear movements. Front rise/fall are separate from tilt. And I standardized it to Sinar lens...
My first attempt at building an 11x14 is above. The elastic is failing and needs to be replaced. The bellows, while light-tight are terribly ugly and cumbersome. The front standard is much larger and...
Okay. So here is Beta version 1 that I think many of you have seen before:
234346
234345
234344
Next post: The from-scratch build, version 2.
I can measure mine with calipers when I get home from work if no one beats me to it.
Yes, I've wondered about Nikon's choice here, too. I have the 800mm and do use it on 11x14. I'm often on the hunt for the other rear elements, but prices have gone up. I've probably now missed my...
Thanks, Vaughan!
The image circle seems to scale with magnification of the scene almost exactly.
Ridax's comments about illumination and astigmatism are spot on.
And different lens manufacturers consider different amounts of astigmatism to be acceptable.
Example:
Rodenstock lists...
Thanks for the confirmation!. I'd love to have the 1200mm rear group for my 11x14.
Nikon's specs are defined by the shortest focal length, not by the whole set. The rear elements are designed in a comparable way to teleconverters, where the FL is increased by magnifying the image...
Digital sensors tend to show more CA with lenses designed for film than you would find on film itself, especially purple fringing in the highlights. This is great performance. I'm super impressed by...
With 5x7, I move the decimal point and then double.
180mm? 18x*2 = 36mm. It's quick and dirty, but it's effective and "close enough."
Same for apertures.
f/5.6? f/.56*2 = f/1.12.
You can...
