In the meanwhile I have bought a Powerphase. I prefered a Betterlight I think (better light sensitiviy and great support) , but was not able to one within range of my budget. I agree with the...
If I want to focus with my 75mm lens on my Sinar F, with a DB shutter, the rear stand will almost need to touch the shutter in order to focus (inifnity). You see the rear stand tilt a bit because of...
Thank you so far of all your help. Betterlight seems to be in favorite, especially by the very good support.
One of the advanteges the Powerphase FX had, was that they are powered by the firewire...
Thank you Victoria. As mentioned in my opening post; I don't intend to discuss wether a scanback is still of this era. For me it will do the job.
I know, I already had the pleasure of dealing with Mike, absolutely amazing friendly guy/support, so yeah, that is a plus for betterlight indeed.
This confuses me a bit. I thought the...
Hi all,

Well, the problem of trying the lens out is that I first need to buy a lensboard for it to mount it on, (flange), and an extension rail for my Sinar as I don't have enough bellow extension for 480mm,...

thank you Struan. Never knew that they was also a 420mm. But shooting at long focus distances (infinity) for architecture, I don't think I can focus without extension rail/bellow on a 420mm....
Is there any way you can tell what kind of coating is used or do you have to look that up by serial number? Reading more about it, I think I might go for the 480mm if I can find one decently priced....
Already found out that this lens needs a copal 3 size opening in lensboard

Thank you Daniel.
I have a Sinar Copal (DB) shutter, and I always use it, so it seems that will be no problem. (if the rear element isn't to long so it will hit the apparture blades!). I also have a...
Being relative new on large format (4x5); I've been now shooting for a year now 4x5, and doing most architecture, I found that my longest 210mm isn't long enough for detail shooting. So I am...
Thanks all, I will drill/cut a sheet of metal to place in between and search for a longer screw
Need help on this:
The radius of the base/clamp of my Sinar F is about the same as the 'radius' of the manfrotto QR plate. (see pictures). So I can't mount the QR plate very solid to the Sinar. What...
thank you for the the advice. It seems like it wasn't anything stupid from me, but just the way it is. I bought 6 fidelity elite holders today. I was a bit short in holders anyhow. I wonder if there...
