I think the purchase of used enlargers, and pieces is a good idea.
My quest begins...
I thought the durst-pro-usa place had a bad reputation?
Didn't think to even look on B&H.
New is expensive for color, and 4x5.
I see Beseler and Omega both can be ordered.
This means parts are available too?
If so, I guess one can buy a recent used...
Hello,
Anyone manufacturing new enlargers?
I'd like to get a complete setup and not worry about parts, support, etc.
It is probably a moot point for all the experienced people out there.
Not...
I always read and thought that scratches or blemishes on the rear element is bad.
On the front, not so much.
Though, me personally, I want the best condition as possible.
My RZ67 Pro II does this also, with a two connection cable.
No problems.
Wow, 75 looks really wide.
Perhaps, I'll get a 90 first, then go from there.
Thanks to everyone for the information and a great forum!
Hmm, would a 90mm be better?
I really don't know how wide I need, nor want.
Thinking of panoramic vistas, or something...
Great information, got the Rodenstock brochure information, now to read it.
Thanks!
Hah, I said print, I was in the middle of a print operation thought process...
Anywho, I meant why is it so difficult to clean?
Embedded in the glass, and doesn't wipe off?
What exactly is lens haze?
Why is it so difficult to print?
Hello,
Would this lens be a good choice for a 6x12 roll film back on a Sinar F2 4x5?
I am thinking of getting a 6x17 back also.
What are the differences between an N model of this lens and the non...
Great information!
I love this place.
Yes, I am STILL a "newbie", probably will be forever.
Guess that is why I like photography, ALWAYS learning, and experimenting.
Wow, I still don't understand why mine aren't working, I'm using the same thing.
ln(4) = 1.3862943611198906188344642429164 on my calculator

Hello,
I recently got a roll film back for my Sinar F2.
I want to try the 6x12 option mask.
Will this necessitate a wide angle lens?
I guess not, as I am currently using a cemented pair meniscus...
Thanks, so I am doing something wrong in my previous posting.
I get numbers that are not close to the graph numbers.
Are you using your calculation?
>> Correction_In_Stops = 0.5305...
I just want to know the correct formula, as none of the numbers I have tried coincide with the original table numbers.
This way, one can input arbitrary seconds for exposure, and get a corrected...
No one?
Please understand, I am not trying to be condescending, I just really would like to understand this.
I use Portra 160, and would love to start shooting zoneplates/pinholes.
Thanks!
Okay, I could use this, thanks!
However, I do not get the same numbers as is shown in the chart.
Yes, I am mathematically challenged.
ln(4) = 1.3862943611198906188344642429164 on my calculator...
Hello,
What is the optimal temperature and humidity for storing lenses?
I "broke out" my LF lenses, and find one with fungus.
Granted, it's an old brass barrel lens, could be 80+ years old....
Thanks, I briefly looked it over.
I am collecting all the useful information I can, as I am still getting my environment correct,
so I can scan my 120 negatives with my Epson V750 Pro.
I'm in Ellenwood, I would like to meet with similar minded people and gear.
It would have to be on the weekends.
Yes, I did.
Shrug, I don't understand all the grief against color?
Ohh, on other sites as well.
Is there a color thread?
I don't see one...

Scan from Porta 160
Mamiya RZ 67 Pro II
Mamiya 110/f2.8
wide open, metered via Sekonic 758, I think this works MUCH better than the prism AE meter
the vignette is mine, I added...
Interesting, I have an RZ67 Pro II system with the 110/2.8 and the Mamiya 180/4 Z VSF that I got NOS NIB.
I need to try this.
Hi Dan, I like to shoot close up wide open.
Yes, I had thought of ND filters as well.
I may have to go this route, though, not all lenses have filter mounts.
Holding the filter to lens can lead to...
Hello,
What's the fastest speed shutter that is available?
Guess I need to pick out a lens size first.
Oh, and what is the fastest shutter, period? Obtainable, or not.
Just wondering out loud...

Researching making contact sheets.
Wonder if this is needed if I can scan with my Epson V750?
Thanks for the replies.
I actually have an Epson V750.
And I bought anti-newton ring glasses for 120 and 4x5.
Though, I only have the Epson holders.
The lab I currently use, Precision Camera &...
Hello,
Can anyone recommend a lab that will develop and scan 6x12 120 color negative film in the USA?
Yes, I always search and read the Google threads.
Just was hoping for something more recent.
argh, I posted the same link twice...
The correct link for the Gaoersi is:...
Yes, there are grid lines on my 4x5 Sinar F2 GG.
Shamefully, I haven't played with this gear in so long, it's shameful.
Thus, the thought of the roll film back.
PM cleared, thanks.
But, the film masks are masking some of the area of the GG view, no?
Wouldn't only the non-masked parts be the "final" image view?
And then, I could always make card board cut...
Wouldn't I also need to have a mask on the GG to properly compose and frame?
Hello,
I am looking at two 120mm roll film backs for my Sinar F2:
- DA YI 6x12 multi-format roll film back - 6x6, 6x9 and 6x12....
Handheld, windy day, Fujifilm X-E1 - Minolta MD 28mm f2.0, wide open, of course:

Sooo, FF *does* make a huge difference from a crop body.
Especially with this lens, on my FF bodies, I want to say EVERYTHING blooms/glows/halos at f1.2
I have deliberately not used either of my FF...
