I finished it off this morning with a wider and darker base. The softbox is an old Mole-Richardson from the sixties.

A laser fixed precisely and permanently to a quick-release plus a mirror fixed to a book-end. When the beam comes back and hits the laser, I know the the tripod head is aimed square on to walls,...
Dan, Not much PS at all - beyond a curve and dodging the petals slightly.
Raw Photo Processor is good for holding a very wide range during conversion. After that it just requires a print curve in...
Sanci, I like it square on!
My effort today:

Done today with Monochrom + 35mm Biogon.

This is a wonderful image.
A way round the sizing problem is to cheat and use a cotton digital print paper - there seems to just the right amount of sizing.
Superlative!
Ramiro, I'm a bit late, but I do like this flower!
Done this week with an old digital Hasselblad.

Done last week with a Monochrom

Shame shame. Take it down. I mistook the thread and posted a not-film image. Dan, anyway it had a some silk stocking over an 80mm lens. I'll shoot it on 4x5 next week to make amends (and detach the...
Unable to use LF for the moment but making up with an old Hasselblad back.

Did this on 8x10 Fomapan - a followup from a tiny format job. Was flowers - now still-life....
M9 with a Summicron 50, as done for a job ...

... and what's left a week later....
I'm sorry about the cancelled images above. Picasaweb has become funny an no longer allows linking to the images held there. I made the mistake of signing in to Google+ in order to remove Picasa's...
8x10 Fomapan in a Shen-H with a tiny Aldis 10". Not much d.o.f, but it was a just a small umbrella flash set up for a leica at f11. ...
I've got to try Vuescan then. Here's another go with 8x10 trying to hang onto the whites....
Jim, There are couple of un-opened vintage cokes there. Might do for caffenol.

Pointing down with a short lens a was done in the 1980's. I still have a silk stocking and no Pezvals....
The Epson scanner gives a nice linear curve for transparencies but gives a pot-belly curve for b&w - which translates to flat mid-tones. On a tip from Galli I'm rescanning last year's stuff using the...
4x5 TMax100 rescanned as 24bit Colour.

Thanks Hugo and Christo. Here I go again. An 8x10 Fomapan100 re-scanned according to a very valuable tip from Jim Galli, as a 24-bit-colour negative. Thanks Jim. My table-tops are shallow (a bit like...
Jim, I'm a million miles behind. I must try scanning B&W in24bit colour. Without pyro, dense or thin?
D-tach, the glow is a black silk stocking - I was late to the vintage lens party.
Stone,...
Been binning and scanning. Why oh why does Ektachrome scan better than b&w? 4x5 Ektachrome in a Technika....
Same thing with a top-notch Sironar Macro-N 210mm - about the same focal length.

A tiny brass Aldis (10" more or less) and it covers 8x10. All for $12.

Here's the $30k shot - PhaseOne Achromatic monochrome straight out of the can. It's doing the rounds for testing....
110299 Easy to see why. 270mm on 8x10 sits at a nice intimate distance from the subject. It's small, with no bothersome shutter (other than the Galli switch). The sinar aperture widget covers for the...
The Galli switch makes my stuff come all in focus. Must be something to do with fomapan reciprocity.
That’s my fond hope. I’m about half way through this series with steel blocks. The last show (“What’s Left”, stuff from the scullery and flowers) sold about fifteen prints and broke even. Big...
A Goerz 270mm on Fomapan 8x10. Got the lens last week and it is going to become a favourite....
Ramiro, let me chime in a bit late to say I think the portrait of Laia is really great and a demonstration that LF is worth the extra effort.
Agreed. My darkroom is a loo, a 5x6 tupperware container, two plastic cups and a laxative measure.
Did this with (an old) Hasselblad digital back to have somethig to compare with 8x10. The problem as always is to get un-flat mid-tones while hanging on to the highlights. Easy enough with digital,...
350968646017 Busch Rathenow 30cm/4,5 Nicola Perscheid. That's about $2k. Should I buy it?
