Hand Held: Graflex Crown Graphic with native 4.7/135mm Xenar in Compur. Hand-in-glove lens/shutter. Wider view enables cropping, handy for hand held.

I dig the self-eye portrait!
Any hints on mating a bulb to a Sinar Copal shutter?

Once again, I find your comment to be a little gem that I copy and put in my Notes files so I can reference later.
However, could you explain why there is less of a difference with color:

My first and only darkroom print so far. Welcoming critiques.
Made with Crown Graphic and Schneider Xenar 135mm f/4.7.

Just looking at images from Thanksgiving portrait session with family (household), and the tension between achieving strong bokeh AND crisp focus where I wanted it was born out in the images....
Timely topic for me. Just got a 300mm Fujinar ("countless" aperture blades) and shot Thanksgiving portraits. Digging it. Also bringing to play with Imagon.
Yesterday, i won a Sinar Soft Focus 2...
Wondering what you all use when you need a remote shutter release for the Sinar Copal Shutter? I know there are auto and remote timer schemes. Also, long exposures with a lens cap.
Any Bulb or...
In Tim's latest video (a new beginner's guide) on the SP-445, he discusses infrequent issues caused by what he thinks is inadequate washing out of the anti-halation dye causing film to stick....
Did exactly as you said--10 years later--and all smooth now! Thanks for the tips!
Picked up the Beseler MX II plus tons of negative carriers (4x5 Negaflat), Print Washer for 20 x 24, drying rack,...
Got it. Thanks much!

Daniel, very impressive! What's your trick on the filter holder ring fitting with the Norma? Filing the hexagonal rod? Thanks in advance!

I am digging this!

In your original post you asked about vintage but didn't foreclose modern. If modern is an option, I use Godox (Flashpoint) AD200 which is a 200WS flash that has extended head accessory available....
Recieved mine in Seattle sometime in last ten days. My mail was On Hold, so uncertain of exact delivery date.

I got on late so I missed the actual print making. [emoji848] I'll check out the recording if you don't mind posting that link.
Was that a Chroma camera that you sometimes hand hold?
Thanks...
As I understand it, some only had the two legs. That's how mine is. That's why I went for the extension legs.

I've got the same, bought via CL from a guy using it for video. Solid. I bought extension legs for it, but they're either the wrong ones or I need a locking collet(?) or some such to keep the...
Thanks all for the suggestions.
West Seattle is where I am. Excellent now that our bridge is gone!

Looking to mount a barrel lens with flange onto lens board. Figuring we must have the most machinists per capita given Boeing, etc. Any referrals for someone who has done such work for you? Bill at...
While i dig the Intrepid enlarger for what it is, i know I'll eventually get a regular enlarger for reason i stated: to have a permanent setup. When that occurs I'll be selling my Intrepid enlarger. ...
Hardly long term as i made just one print! It is my first ever darkroom print, and serves as my profile photo here. Never used any enlarger before or since (more to come), so consider that.
I...
Still awaiting mine in Seattle.

Mine from China (when i'd assumed I'd never find a good genuine article) does have a "Sinar" badging, but you can tell it isn't a true Sinar by the finish right away. Not bad, but different. I bought...
This could be a VERY stupid question, but in reviewing "Finely Focused", I see this reference to the .1 ND filter for the film speed test. Was this filter supplied originally with the book? I am...
You could do what i did. I bought the Chinese copy because, frustrated, i couldn't find a true Sinar. The copy functions great. Well made. Immediately, a very fine Sinar version popped up on the...
New to shutter distinctions. I get that there are many shutters preferred over Copal, but are you suggesting a Copal #3 is better than a Copal #1, all things being equal. If so, could you explain?...
Appreciate Max's replies here. Responsive and responsible.
The Intrepid was my, like many folks', first LF camera. Right tool for THAT job...for me and many others.

Bobab, another LF beginner here.
I started with a field camera, migrating now to Norma for studio. The Norma is such a gem, eh?
I went with a 150mm and 210mm (each within your price range),...

There are no serial numbers, but i totally get your point. Wondered the same thing about their process being complaint-driven rather than proactive.
Also understood from beginning--even as...
This is consistent with response i received re my MK4 4x5. My model was an early MK4, and the small bolts scratched the base. They told me mine was from a small batch with that issue, and they...
I picked up a Bogen/Manfrotto 3051 on Craigslist cheaply. Put the legs on a dolly from epay. Fabulous in the studio. Those independently adjusting legs with just a finger control at the head plus...
Oh how I wish we had one of these water walls when I did stone/brick work. Hours breathing that dust, with and without masks! Not good!

Thanks all, for your responses and especially for the links on Norma cleaning, lubrication. Haven't tackled a full-on rehab yet, but did read the cleaning manual more than once.
Gave me just what...
Corran: thanks for your thorough review and video. I have the MK4, but not the black version. It is my first ever LF camera, so for me it was more about getting accustomed to the format than the...
I am neither experienced enough nor likely have the right lighting to contribute, but if a socially distant pair of hands is useful, I'd welcome the opportunity to watch an experienced person tackle...
