Also, is the flashlight 850 nm or 920? Thanks
So do you think even the ir light source will fog film? I thought only the near ir w the red light would. Guess I’ll have to test.
Great, thanks. And have you found it to be sensitive to ir goggles or can they be used safely without fogging?
Also, does anyone have scans of prints, rather than negs? Thanks
And have you had any extra problems w creasing or scratching? Thanks
Hi everyone , I’ve been following this thread since I saw it as I want to try this film for 7x17, but am worried the curl and thinness will affect focal plane placement. Have any of you tried it w...
They really are different animals, and then there’s the further difference between enlarging papers and contact papers (azo and Lodima), which further distance the two options. A contact print, even...
Let us know how it all works out, I buy from them all the time and have never had a problem so curious how they handle things like this.
That’s horrible, and they didn’t offer to compensate you in any way? I was just debating whether to buy the last of their 717, now I just have to pass given what you’re describing. Have you tried...
I think 810 is the perfect format, really don’t like the smaller lf, but am considering them again for color given the exorbitant price of 810 color. When I did try 4x5 I didn’t really enjoy it, and...
Also, this is a great reference page for these cameras https://www.cameraquest.com/techs.htm
Thanks, yeah I’m in touch w the guy in sd who does work on these, he mentioned it’s also missing a spring that goes between the glass and bracket and he’s checking to see if he has some spares. Once...
Thanks, figured out how to flip the back and am now looking for the Missing bracket and some lens boards.
Hello everyone
A friend just let me borrow a Linhof 5x7 but it’s got a problem w the back as you can see. It’s missing one of the brackets that hold the gg, but I also think the back is on...
Michael Smith and Lois Conner.
Hi, Hugo, curious which Ries head you're using w the tripod, the j or the a250? Have you tried it w just the bowl? I'm currently using the Ries a250 head on an old Ries A tripod for my 810 KMV as...
OK, so that's just a couple of pounds under my KMV w lens, have you tried it w a longer lens, say a 19"?
Curious how heavy the camera itself is? Is that a wehman?
I’m curious what’s the largest size you’ve worked w so far. If you’ve never developed your own film I’d highly recommend starting w 8x10 before going bigger. I recently added 717 after years of...
10 for 8x10, 5 for 7x17.
Hi Jim,
Not sure I understand you, do you mean you remove the glass from the contact frame and then use a glass plate without a top glass? If so, what exerts the pressure needed for good contact?
Hello,
I'm in the process of preparing to print some 80-100 year old glass plates, and wanted to ask folks with experience how they print them. I plan to use azo/lodima, and am worried a heavy...
I've been using a 12" Dagor and a 16" artar for a few years, mostly the Dagor. The artar can be found fairly affordable still, will give you something closer to a 55 in 35mm terms.
Great idea, but will you ship overseas as well?
Great, thanks for all the responses, will check them out. Just checked the bay for the 210 sa and couldn't see anything affordable, curious how much they usually go for Lachlan. Also, any chance...
Can someone confirm or deny whether the 10 3/4" Dagor covers 717? I just got a 270 claron and it does cover but no movements, so was curious what else other than the computars will serve as a wide...
Wonderful, thanks for sharing, your whole approach, from camera building to carbon printing is very inspiring.
Is the 810 intrepid equally wide angle challenged?
I don't know if they had both models, mine has front rise and tilt but no front swing or shift.
I'd like more movements and extension, especially front rise, swing and shift. Mine has rise but sometimes not enough. Tbh I'm also just curious what I'm missing w an older camera, it has certainly...
Oh yeah, here are some shots of my 7x17 Folmer in action. Lots more in my IG feed.

How do you like the 5x12? I'm considering the 7x17, have you had a chance to use it much? BTW I find 717 prints very handholdable!
As long as we're talking Chamonix, has anyone tried their 7x17 camera? I remember reading Michael Mutmansky's VC review vs the Ritter when they first came out, how do people who own them feel about...
Calumet c-1 is all metal tail board 8x10.
I try to keep each format I use as ready to go and self sufficient as possible, though mostly I tend to stick to one outfit per project. That one outfit is always ready to go the night before, and I...
Mostly 7x17 FnS w a 12" Dagor 80% of the time, the rest I use a 16.5" Artar.
And has that helped remedy the problem?
I'm not the original poster but I did buy one of these for ulf and it came w pinholes through the top stitching, brand new out of the box. The seller refunded my money, but I'm just saying I...
One more vote for the 240 g claron. Tiny and light, it's also one of the sharpest lenses I own.
Mas amidol. The Lupex is a little contrastier than azo 3 so the option to use a water bath comes in handy.
