AdamD Want focal lengths are you interested in using?
Cool. Thanks for the info. I've been looking at this camera for quite a while. Someday I'll pull the trigger.
Eric, When you the extension board do you attach to the existing board or do replace the existing one with the extension.
Hugo, OP here. I was interested in the 4x10 camera. Not a 4x5. Honesty I'm surprised it only goes to 420mm. I find a 450 lens very useful for 4x10.
Keith, How deep is your top hat? I thought of that but was worried about possible vignetting.
Vaughn, It looks like the mini van you sons used has a separate roof mounted tent. Out Honda Element has a clam shell type top built onto it like your Euro van. I can open and access from inside....
I was looking at the specs on the Chamonix 4x10 and it has 420mm max extension. Has anyone successfully used a 450 lens on one? I see they have extra extensions available but are there enough bellows?

Same idea as the VW but you can go uphill!

Well, I don't own a Chamonix at the moment. But I'm thinking of getting one.
Does anyone have experience using a 24 inch lens on a Chamonix 8x10? I have an Artar in a no.5 Ilex shutter. It weighs just over 3 pounds. I know the Chamonix has plenty of bellows to handle this...
Thanks for all the replys everyone. I've been using my deardorff's for a number of years. 8x10 and 5x7/4x5. I use front tilt quite often for near far focus and was just wondering how people handle...
My question is what is the reason to have rear only movements on a view camera? I'm thinking of a camera like a Kodak 2D. I've always used rear tilt to straighten verticals but then have to also use...
Has anyone used these? They look pretty nice and not as expensive as others offered now todays. Just saw a Fidelity for over $600.00. Dang!!
I bought one of these for my 8x10 deardorff a few years ago. It was the worst ground glass / fresnel combo I've ever used. I contacted them and told them so and they let me return it. Great customer...
I just finished framing my image. I will be dropping it off at the gallery next week. Unfortunately I won't be in town to see the show.

Did you get that lens mounted yet Thomas?

Looking at the example I don't think it has to do with the processing. It's only happening in the sky and not the building. I would say the sky was bright and has alot of exposer. Probably creeping...
Most of the images I see shot with 11x14 or bigger are middle distance shots. Or old buildings etc... Mostly static feeling. Does anyone do near far type of shots with ULF cameras? You know the ones...
So who is Rudy from ebay? Is he one of the sellers from china?
I'm looking at the Symmar - S 5.6. With the 77mm filter size.
I'm toying with getting a 210 for my 5x7 and have noticed some Schneider APO-Symmar S lens for sale for well under $200. Does anyone have experience with these lenses? Just wondering why they are so...

I've just acquired a Cooke 18" in a copal 3. The image on the ground glass is nice and crisp. Anyone have experience with this lens? I'm mostly curious how it compares to a Nikkor M 450. How about...

It does have tilt. Not swing.
Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm looking forward to my visit. I have not been to NYC in 18 years. I love Utah but culturally...not so exciting.
