Greetings.
I've got a crowdfunding project up for an art project. Some of you may already be aware of my 8x10 portraits with x-ray film. This portrait work led me to photograph my first celebrity,...
I thought about that and tried that. Still won't open. I decided I'd try a different program and downloaded the trial version of Vuescan. The trial version worked, so I purchased the full version....
Bryan,
I do have two versions of this portrait. The Flickr version (and the main image on my blog) is a scan of the contact sheet print version. At the time I was using a Zone VI enlarger to make...
Anyone here got any advice for my issues? I can turn on my v750, but when I launch Epson Scan it crashes.
Alright so it's technically not an October portrait, but I unveiled it last night (October 1st), I hope that counts. I've been keeping this portrait secret since I took it in May, seems a little odd...
This is something I've got up my sleeves for couples:

Thanks! Contact printing times are going to be different for each paper, developer, machine, lens, aperture, and distance to paper. I'm using a Zone VI VC enlarger at the moment, but almost finished...
Thank you Jim and Pfiltz.
This is Ali's girlfriend. They came together for a sitting. Her's just as stunning as his, I think. I didn't have her approval for the image yesterday.

Gonna post here, other than my usual x-ray images thread. Hoping to get some exposure and critique from a potential different crowd.

Oh this is nice. I'm interested in what you all find out with the 920.

Here she is. Acacia wood baseboard x2 + shims. It's a probably a little bit exotic, but it was this or MDF for about the same price.
Jose, I tried asking Cemil about the model 3, variable contrast LED head. He no longer offers that one either. Are the Model 1a and 2 still available? I'd like to hear more about what you did for...
That's a wonderful format! Beautiful image!
Thanks for all the help!
Apparently, I'm not too dumb. I went to the big furniture street in Daegu and there was not a single person that had heard of a tee nut. I even showed them a picture of...
That's an incredible offer Randy. We've got concrete walls and are a pain to drill into. I don't know if the school will like that. I'll think about it.
Good one, Shane.
Freestyle says the...
I considered this option, but I think the custom made baseboard will end up being cheaper.
How thick is the original baseboard? My Zone VI enlarger (60 inch chassis) has a 2.2 cm (3/4 inch?) baseboard. I'd say the Omega D5 XL is probably about the same weight or just a tad more with the...
Tee nuts. Now, there's an idea. I've never heard of those before. The baseplate mounting flange is round. There are three base clamps that hold secure the column in place and one screw that goes in...
I'm resurrecting this old thread.
I'm looking to have a custom baseboard cut out of MDF for an Omega D5 XL enlarger. Any warnings or advice before I have an 80x80 cm (31.5 inch x 31.5 inch) and 3...
I wish they made these in smaller sizes. I haven't figured out how I would rig up a 12x16 adapter for my Zone VI enlarger.
Great information, Evan! Do you need to diffuse the light? I may end up making an 8x10 head to enlarge my 8x10 negatives after all!
Oh those just miss the 8x10 coverage needed.
Though this one might work:...
Do you think this would work??...
I'd love to see a photograph of your modification, Evan.
By the way, what do you enlarge your 5x7 negative to? It seems like 16.5 x 23 would be around the largest I'd print on a 20x24 getting the proportions correct.
I've got lots of plans too. I don't see it being a bad thing, Randy. When I shot digital, I didn't have much of a passion or vision for my work.
I'm stuck printing 4x5 until my Focal Point glass...
This is really cool, Randy!
This is a couple that asked for me to take their portraits on their "wedding day". They got married the legal way first, which is very typical with the expat community in South Korea, and will have...
+1 He'd have my business for that too.
Richard Ritter says we should be able to get someone who makes neon lights to be able to replace them. (I read this in a post somewhere else). However with the money I would put into replacement...
Very nice to see! I'd really like to get a model 3 5x7 head for my Zone Vi enlarger. More people need to twist Cemil's arm.
Welcome to the club! They are fun cameras!
I never strip my double-sided x-ray negatives.
Thanks for the additional information. I'll most likely try the LPL ET-500 out when I start printing with this. However, my enlarger is still in pieces as I need to get the column base's metal...
I purchased the CS5 Design Set when it was new for around $150 under the educator discount in Korea. There were so many pirated versions in Korea, I think they were almost giving it away for $150....
Brilliant. Thank you, Richard. The green "Ready" light was on as soon as I plugged it in. I had the light source on "Focus" until the light automatically shut off around 10-15 min later. Even after...
