Thank you Randy! Hope you’re well.
Hi everyone - it's been a while but I finally had a chance to shoot/process some film. Here is one from a recent trip to Ocean City, MD.

Years of waiting and I can’t believe this unicorn is here! Time to take the big toy out.

Thanks, Peter! Can't quite describe the feeling when you also look at the night sky with a telescope that can resolve so much information. It's truly breathtaking and I hope everyone gets to...
A cluster of 50+ galaxies known as Abell 2197. So much to imagine.

Just a preview of how little information is captured even with multiple hours of exposure. However, when you accumulate enough data, these distance giants start to show in their full glory. I am...
This thread makes me want to shoot more B&W film. Beautiful photos tuco, Austin, Michael, Paul, John, and Gabe!
I always prewash with distilled water and have had nothing but excellent results with Jobo. As Ari mentioned, the Tetenal kit (which I use) also instructs you to do so for 1 min.
Peter, these are fantastic. Love the MOON!
I managed to grab another galaxy. This needs to be redone in better sky conditions but I did have a break last night to capture this.

Thanks, Bryan. Same here - I get a night or two every month so have to try to manage it all quickly. Have been tweaker the automation workflow which helps me get the most out of a single night.

Me, three!
You have it in you John!!!! :)
Yes, that’s it! I built it a few years back.

That is impressive - loved the final print! Makes me want to get my DIY camera out myself.
Thank you, Peter!
Thank you, Randy! I can't believe I am able to capture these from my backyard - still learning. Here is another attempt at processing the data with annotations this time. Feel free to wander around...

Bryan, I really do think astrophotography is one hobby where "better equipment = better output" is a true statement. SCTs can be annoying to work with because of so many variables that have to align...
Thank you, Tuco! What you described is the magic I remember from my childhood looking up at the sky. If all works out, I plan to travel to locations that have the least light pollution to witness...
Thank you, Bryan. I have been tweaking my workflow and I am getting better with each session and what I have found is that underexposing the frames and shooting more of them has proved to be better...
Bryan,
Your image made me give it a go myself as the sky finally opened up for decent imaging after many months. My setup is way too high a focal length for this target but I like the details I...
Thank you Randy! I am excited about how this turned out and hoping to add another night's worth of image data to this. Fingers crossed :)

Mine too tuco but it's exactly the reason why I am drawn to it. We are looking at something that is 11.74 million light years ago!
Thank you Peter!
That's really nice Peter - love the perspective.
So, I pushed the challenge and went for a Galaxy. Here is Bodes Galaxy and Cigar Galaxy from last night. Still learning but this is getting fun!

tuco, I love the simplicity and clarity in your photos!

Thank you Randy, Peter, and Jon. It’s called the Orion Nebula located in the sword of the Orion constellation.
