I haven't done a scientific study, but a few indoor exposures using FOMA100 with times of 1 minute up to 7.5 minutes indicate that the reciprocity curve is a suitable start point.

I started with a 4x5" Sanderson 'hand & stand'. The bellows were light tight but I kept getting part of the film obscured. It looked like the slide wasn't fully pulled, but I eventually figured that...
Can anyone shed any light on the purpose of these two items. There are in the leather box with the half-plate camera, dark slides, lenses, loupe etc. I haven't seen them in the flesh & only have the...
Gents,
Thanks for your contributions. The lenses shown are in a museum, so I'm a bit limited to what I can do with them. However, I've found a Ross 3.25" for sale so I could test the coverage of a...

Hi,
I am trying to match some photos taken in 1907-8 with equipment accompanying a half-plate R J Beck camera now in the Oxford Museum of Science. The camera was used by T.E. Lawrence for castle &...
Anthony,
Thanks for this information. Always useful to know how others in the UK are going about it. I am similarly mixing my developer & stop to neutralise before putting the in the drain. I use...
Hello from Kent, Anthony.
I'm also a relative newcomer to the large format world, incl. home development.
Can you say how you go about disposal of photographic chemicals in West Sussex ?

Keith,
Did you sort out a tripod ring ? Looking at my half-plate (not a T-P but probably similar) they don't look that easy to make from scratch.

Milonian - Thanks for the comments. I did take some test exposures, but using 5x4" film in an adaptor to reduce costs a bit. Obviously those tests didn't go to the edges of a half-plate neg, so it...
This was taken with the same equipment, but portrait of course, and less rise. Same development process but less time in the stop. Seems like a better result, but with some appreciable light leaks in...
Hi,
I would appreciate some pointers on how I might improve on this photo, my first using half-plate. I'm not getting the 'crispness' and detail I was hoping for. It's FOMA100 half-plate (6.5 x...
I took another 4x5" (this time with a 5" TTH Primoplane lens) and started the 10 sec shake and then alternate rolling soon after pouring and putting the cap on the tube. No strange effects this time....
Thanks for the replies. I have noticed that the film can move inside the tube during development. The longer tube length was really so I could move later to half-plate with the same tube. Also, the...
Hi,
I used my 1910-ish half-plate camera for the first time yesterday. I'm awaiting film for it, so I made up a 4 x5" adaptor so I could test a new shutter blind and see what the image from the...
