Congratulations! A great idea and a splendid collection of images (and talent).
A very impressive website in which the design and layout enhanced the images. Congratulations! Contrary to my LF and B&W prejudices, I was particularly attracted to the color work - especially the...
Impressive set of different images. The website was easy to navigate, but the rather plain-Jack/Jill web design rather detracted, rather than enhanced, the quality of the images IMHO. And I would...
Lots of very good advice! My two cents: Since time is limited, Las Vegas is probably the best starting point (you may find that flights are cheaper there as well!). And while the major national...
Hi Andy, and welcome. I have a Chaminox 045-2 which replaced a very heavy and unwieldy MPP VII. It is a bit "fiddly", but the fiddlyness makes me slow down and concentrate -- which I think is a...
Wow! Great images and a very attractive website. I was particularly impressed with the portraits. You have the knack of really "getting" the person.
The Monadnock Art Tour is this coming weekend with fifty studios open (Oct 6-8). I believe that we are the only studio showing large-format work. Our studio is Number 5. We will have about 25...
We hope to get up to Rockland in a couple of weeks. The CMCA and Dowling Walsh are always great and now we can add your show to the list of "must sees". Congrats.
After many years of fruitless tinkering, my new website is up and running (with blogs). Have a look. www.davidrheubottom.wordpress.com. Your comments and suggestions are welcome. Most of the...
Linda Claff and David Rheubottom will be showing about 25 new B&W images as part of the Monadnock Open Studio Art Tour in Peterborough NH on Saturday and Sunday, Oct 7-8 Their studio, #6 on the tour...
Recent* photographs of Linda Claff and David Rheubottom will be on display in the Daniels Room of the Hancock Town Library in Hancock New Hampshire from May 14 through June 23. The opening reception...
Wow, indeed! A fantastic place and you're very lucky to devote a year to it. My wife and I have been twice and I'm longing for a third visit. The problems of water and keeping track of locations...
+1 - It would make a fascinating journal.
+?. It's great! I love it and wouldn't be without it, but I also wouldn't be without my metronome.
A number of issues of Lenswork Extended contain video clips showing the personal darkrooms of a number of famous b&w photographers -- with discussions about working habits, layout, useful tips, etc. ...
The Peak District (both White Peak and Dark Peak) is quite large. For scenics, the area around Hathersage has lots going for it. Monsal Head near Buxton is very popular with good car access and...
An exhibition of Don Kirby and Joan Gentry's "Anasazi Project" will be on display at the Clark Gallery (145 Lincoln Road, Lincoln, Mass) from Jan 2nd to Feb 2nd 2013. A reception is being held on...
Try http://www.gitzospares.com/. They are excellent and very prompt. I think the part you want is #G1020 which is different (and better) than the original. Each of their web pages on a particular...
For what it is worth... I have an 045-2 and a metal field camera (an MPP VII, the English Linhof). The 045-2 is MUCH easier to set up and adjust. Using a 90mm wide-angle on the MPP is a nightmare...
Bruce Barnbaum's "The Art of Photography" is excellent on the Zone Systerm, and much else. For my money, it is the best "how to" book around.
As others have said, you can't go wrong. The adobe churches on the Old Taos Road (San José de Gracia in Las Trampas and San Francisco de Asis at Ranchos de Taos) are fabulous -- the latter has been...
The Adams exhibition at the Peabody Essex in Salem MA is excellent (and worth a return visit), but I did find the legend on the exhibition entrance to be droll.

I'd like to second the comments about Bruce Barnbaum and Don Kirby's workshops. Bruce's darkroom workshops (I can't speak about his field trips) are full hands-on. You work, think, and talk...
I live in southern New Hampshire quite near to Vermont. The foliage is already turning and it looks like the leaf peeper season will be early this year. Ordinarily we expect the peak season to be...
Thanks to all those who responded... and apologies to those who found the posting of the same question on other forums to be offensive (or unnecessary)!
The shutter in question is a Prontor-SVS with stops which range from B and from 1 - 300.
Nope! This one doesn't have a "T". The lenses that I have for my 4X5 MPP VII all have a preview button (or a "T" stop), but this little lens does not. But thanks for the suggestion. Cheers, David
We have just acquired a Century Graphic 2 1/4 X 3 1/4 for my wife's use, but cannot figure how to open the shutter on the Graflar f/4.5 101mm to focus using the ground glass. (Practical) Advice...
Thanks to all who offered suggestions. Bruce Barnbaum suggested that I contact Greg Blank at Omega/Satter - the distributer for LPL in the States. I emailed him yesterday and he replied first thing...
While living in England I purchased a Saunders/LPL 4500 enlarger which has a power supply for 240v. When I moved back to the States, I bought a 120v power supply through that well-known online...
