I just heard the news about Michael today. Dan Smith's post in the beginning of this thread characterized Michael very well. I was fortunate to have met and known Michael. Both he and Paula were...
Not to mention the fact that ALL of the old duplicating films formerly made for creating enlarged internegs are no longer produced.
Because you waste time which can't be replaced. Now if you need to test the viability of the developer or whatever that's another issue, but for practice - wasting your time.
For those printing with the Epson 3800/3880 our good friend Keith Schreiber has posted this article about how to eliminate the problem:

Are you pulling our legs with this post? Kodak Commercial Ektars were not introduced until the 1930s.
Doesn't seem to be much there. What are you using?
Yes I 've built several. The most critical element is to be certain of the wave length of the fluorescent tubes. You need to use something similar to this bulb:

Pere,
What large format camera(s) do you use?
+1 on that!
I had my optometrist make a pair of custom lenses which is about the equivalent to +5 reading glasses. They weren't too expensive since they already had my eye prescription on hand.
So you are making pure platinum prints? Or a mixture of palladium and platinum. What kind of paper did you guys print with?
Yes it's all been done before so pack up your equipment and ship it to me. I'll pay for the shipping fees :)
+1 to what Bob said.
I always thought P/N 55 was pretty damned perfect. The stuff they are selling now is pretty much crap.
All of this in 3 days! I'm impressed!
Definitely!
+1! Make that thing go away.
Assuming you've solved your clearing / staining problems. You now need to determine the exposure scale of your printing process. And then make negatives that fit the process.
You can determine...
I've experienced the same or similar problems that you have with ferric silver based processes such as VDB, Agyrotype, and kallitype prints.
First don't use a water rinse at all before toning. I...
Just heard about Patrick's passing. I have vivid recollections of him in Santa Fe. His palladium prints were sublime.
He was a character and excellent LF photographer! RIP Patrick.
No photo-flo for pyro - Rubbish! And you don't have to use non alkaline fixer either and standard stop bath is fine also. No final soak in used developer and you can use hypo-clearing agent.
Pyro...
Ever notice the small arch at the top of Shiprock?
I visited a few years ago and took open roads to a point where I could not travel any farther. Never had an issue. I was surprised to find...
The Fletcher 2100 is the mat cutter to get in my opinion. Good used ones can be purchased for about $700.
As for 8 ply mat - I think it is over kill most of the time but if you have to use it pay...
Probably not with the standard blade. For 8 ply you will need to use Blade #271.

+1 for the Zeiss lens cleaning fluid, just put it on the tissue not the glass. Fogging the glass with your breath is also an option.
No one in their right mind sum scans 8x10 firm @ 9600 PPI.
Thanks for the quick reply.
If I've understood properly this modification only affects scans for 35mm film format. Is that correct?
Where did you source the extension tubes?
Regards,
Don
I have to thank a forum member who kindly sold me 20 packs of Kodak lens cleaning tissue; marked on the reverse as being manufactured by EK.
I can now sleep at night! :)
I'll also look for some...
I own 2 Scitex 340 scanners, 1 fully functional and 1 for spare parts. Does anyone know positively that the Scitex 340 can be modified in this manner?
I appreciate the post by SURF but...
Well FWIW, I mainly use them for cleaning my reading glasses. I don't often need to clean lens surfaces.
Since the micro-fiber clothes aren't regarded as disposable I don't feel they are a replacement for KLCP.
Don
Thanks Oren. Your observations about source of manufacturer echo others experiences regarding Tiffen though my remaining stock of KLCP is labeled made by EK.
I just placed 10 packs of the Tiffen...
I was waiting for micro fiber suggestion - thanks, but my question was about lens cleaning tissue.
Don
Dang Bob are you still hobbling around? My sympathies.
Don
Hello Folks,
For decades I've been using Kodak lens cleaning tissues (Kodak lens cleaning paper) but sadly my stash will soon be exhausted.
I've read on dpreview that Tiffen sells the...
My answer is - don't attempt to clean the print. Most likely the damage is now in the emulsion and can't be removed without further damaging the print. Have the print expertly scanned and reproduced...

Since you live in CT contact Carl Weese regarding his workshop schedule. He is in CT also and he is definitely one of the best palladium printers out there.
