Right. I'm thinking that if I just don't open the aperture wider than 6.8 it will be fine.

Thanks
Probably not, but my question is is the difference between a 5.6 shutter and a 6.8 shutter simply the markings on the shutter or is there some difference in the size of the aperture - which would...
I'm on the list of those waiting the delivery of a Wanderlust Travelwide camera. There is a note on their site that says "Designed for the Schneider Angulon 90mm ƒ/6.8" but you can use other 90s. I...
I'm having it cleaned, the timing checked, and adjusted.
I have seen Copal 0 shutters with shutter speeds marked as B, 1, 2, 5, 10, 25, 50, 100, 250, which I assume represent 1, 1/2, 1/5, 1/10, 1/25, 1/50, 1/100 and 1/250 seconds. Why are these speeds not...
I have a couple of shutters in lenses I bought on eBay that are in need of cleaning and lubricating - general once-over. I live on Long Island / New York area, but I'm willing to ship it out for...
Come on guys - is 75 bucks really going to kill you? Large format photography people? Anyone who doesn't kick in is doing themselves and the rest of us a disservice.
Re: Isn't there a way to invert the image
Couldn't you do it using the rotation lock on the iPhone?
If you have an iPhone, don't bother with the Palm Pilot thing. Expodev has be rewritten for the iPhone, and is available on the app store. Search for 'BTZS expodev.' Maybe the author can't say...
The second video is at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_KGv_SqbzU
By the way my setup doesn't include the violin player.
I use the BTZS tubes as well. I find them to solve a lot of my problems which are similar to yours. If you watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMXQO5ATgiY (and the part 2 video,) you...
I've been following the New55 project closely for a while. It's not really a restart of Type 55, but a new film modeled after Type 55. One of the main advantages of the New55 film is that the print...
Re: I've been doing photography with 35 mm and 6x6
In the UK it's 6x6 - I know it's hard to tell, but I did reverse the numbers...
Re: And it's 5x4 in the UK, not 4x5!
He could just buy a 4x5 camera and rotate the back 90 degrees.
It's easy. Just get yourself a darkbulb. You screw it in to a light socket, and when you turn it on, the room gets dark.
See: http://darkbulb.org/default.aspx
Re: do you zero on the light without the exposed film or zero on the actual film base.
A new densitometer should come with reflection and transmission calibration devices. I bought a Heiland...
Type 55
Does anyone have an opinion about whether these guys will ever bring a product to market?

Re: Not sure what collar you are talking about...
The collar I'm talking about is the metal cylindrical ring that goes around the rear element. It unscrews. I received the lens cone yesterday, and...
The photo I posed was from B&H's web site. It's not one of my lens.
Mine is - I guess - an older model. I found it listed on b and h photo as "no longer available" and there were specs on it which listed the ring as 50mm, which I ordered. Harry Taylor sold me a cone...
I bought a Schneider-Kreuznach 150mm 5.6 Componon S enlarging lens on eBay. I'm going to buy a lens cone from Harry Taylor, but I'm not sure what size the locking ring is. He says most are 39mm and...
RH Designs in the UK has this gizmo that I use to flash paper.
http://www.rhdesigns.co.uk/darkroom/html/paperflasher.html
This "superhydrophobic" stuff would do it. I'm not sure it's available yet, but it's supposed to be soon. It's pretty exciting stuff and seems to have lots of potential uses, including keeping water...
I use an RH Design f-stop timer as well. The authors of "Way Beyond Monochrome" suggest that you should make prints in a kind of flip side of the axiom used when making negatives - "expose for the...
I use a little of each - BTZS tubes, trays, and hangars. I use the BTZS tubes to develop/stop. BTW, I'm not sure why they would end up in the "gear head" category - mine don't have any gears. To me...
You can also contact Fred Newman ( viewcamerastore.com ) and get a copy of the DMAX newsletters. The one that you should read is DMAX vol 8-2 - which has an article "Selenium Toning for Maximum...
If you have Numbers (part of the iWork office suite) on the Mac, it opens fine.
I have a Schneider-Kreuznach APO-Symmar f5.6/210mm lens with a Copal #1 shutter. The aperture lever has become very loose. Its working and it will maintain it's position, but if it gets knocked into...
I beg to differ - he takes the caps off of the tubes, dumps out the developer and puts the negatives still in their tubes into a tray of stop bath and rotates them for 10 seconds or so. This is done...
I've seen threads here about how there's no more plus-x, but I just bought some 120 plus-x. Is it that there's no more sheet plus-x?
It's hard to keep up with which film is still available in what...
I ended up using the technique in this article:
http://www.largeformatphotography.info/alternative-developing/
which is a dip-n-dunk method using 3 combi tanks and one combi hangar. My problem...
I use a Leedal temperature control unit which is mounted on a board and also has a filter. It has attachments for hot and cold, a mixing valve (2 in 1 out) with thermometer and the filter is on the...
Can someone post a photo of a 'bail back' so I might understand what it is?
Well, I did room with a guy from Nashville in college, and that was in Florida. I think I might qualify for some kind of dispensation, no?
How do y'all prevent your cameras from moving around when you change film holders? This is also a problem when using polaroid/fuji instant backs when removing the films. I realize that you have to...
We seem to have something of an "attention deficiency" going on here - the above 2 links point to the film that I bought to begin with (FP-100B) thinking that it was 4x5. That's why I started the...
Try his direct email - harry_g_taylor@sbcglobal.net....
Yeah, well that was the mistake I made too - FP-100B is NOT 4x5, it's 3.25x4.25. The confusion to me was that FP-100c (the color flim) IS 4x5.
I also suggest speaking to Harry Taylor at http://www.classic-enlargers.com - he's the man for all things Omega...
