I think the photographers using 4x5 film should be fine and able to get the film from a number of places.

How would you sell that image a the gallery?
With the TV or just the file. It would be hard to get what it's worth if you just sell the file, compared to selling a 50" print.
What are your thoughts.
Just go with 8x10. It's so much more enjoyable than shooting 4x5.
If you put your images on a jump drive just take it down to the Sony store. They'll be happy to show you how it looks.

I use 4K to show stills all the time.
They show the picture in 4K and the quality is outstanding. Viewers are amazed at the colour and detail.
They don't have an SD slot but a USB slot so you can...
It should be a fun day.
I ended up going the darkroom route. I just find it more enjoyable and spend too much time behind the computer already.
Plus who wants to be just another guy printing digital prints.

I shot for Getty for years. First when Major League Baseball rolled into digital and Getty picked up the rights to the files. Then the same thing happened with NFL Images (first they went to...
Although the 135mm is a great length I would consider the 120mm f8 Nikkor. I use one on my 8x10 so it has great covering power and is wonderful for 4x5 work because you run out of camera before you...
I think it will be fun.
I watched a movie about Paris in the 20's and how are artists all met for coffee because the coffee shops were warm and their homes were freezing. It seemed like a great...
In the past I've had a "Social Gathering Evening" once or twice a year for photographers to get together and share their latest projects. This year I'm changing it to a Saturday morning, and I'll...
I had the SV810 for a number of years. I thought it was the nicest camera on the market. After I sold it I bought a Shen-Hao 4x10. It's nice but not in the same class. I also used a Dorff for a...
A few more from the series.

I printed them as 8x20. It worked out well. Just split a sheet of 16x20 in half and you can make two prints. The print size is rather nice.

I like it the best myself.

I've printed and flattened a few more.
Yes I do take them a print. I have a log book that I keep and I record what they think of the images in it.

I've been working on a series of portraits taken on one street in Hamilton, Ontario.
Kenilworth Avenue is a gritty part of town and I've been making images on the one street for about a year now....
Right now we're at 8.
There's still plenty of room.
So come on over.
-Rob
Let me know if you can make it.
I try and host these once or twice a year. If you love photography, you're invited.
It's a chance to meet other photographers, see what they have been up too...
Kirk,
Are you doing anything different to promote the sales.
Regular facebook postings or client emails?
-Rob
I sold one in Nov.
It was a black and white landscape. 8x10 matted for $200. A nice enough picture.
I didn't do any "art in the park" type shows for the last five years, I occasionally have work in...
I bought the Beseler with the 8x10 conversion kit.
The body is very old and the head much newer but still likely 20 year old.
It's a cool head, or is it called cold head... anyway I have to use...
I don't think the RC version ever came to market.
I sell the papers from my retail store in Canada and stock all three sizes of the FB product. The RC was never actually shipped ..... at least to...
I have a Domke... seems to work fine.
In the past I had a Kodak one.... it was great but no longer made.
Also Banana Republic made them years ago... those were nice as well but no longer made....
For years I had a 4x5 camera and 4x5 enlarger.
Then I sold both and just shot smaller film for work.
One day I decided to get back into large format but realized my wife would kill me if I went out...
I'm guessing she was able to bum a ride with someone going by.

Very interesting piece.
This is one of the better discussions in a while.
I enjoyed the youtube video that was posted as well.

If you call yourself a "Master Printer", than you are one.
There are no criteria in printing, no degrees to acquire.
Interesting though I've found the best printers I know call themselves......
I use it in 8x10, and 5x7 and even had a special run of 4x10 done last year.
I use it in ID-11 1:3 in a rotary drum.
I'm making enlargements though.
I use it at ISO 32 on very contrasty days and...
Once again sheet film shooters in Canada will have a chance to take part in Ilford's ULF film run.
The order deadline in Canada is Friday June 22.
There is a large selection of FP4 and HP5 sizes,...
Delta 100 in 4x5 is a regularly available film. You don't need to wait to order it.
In Canada I'll be selling the Ilford ULF again this year.
I don't yet have the pricing.
Rob from...
The best one I've used is the Ebony. Made by the people who make the Ebony cameras.
I'm sure your local Ebony dealer can get you one.
I have one on each of my lenses.
Put the card back into the camera. plug the camera into the mac. Turn it on.
It should show up on the desktop.

Very cool, way to go.

I thought the pizza was pretty good.
Today's the day.
The pizza is on order and you're invited. Things run from 7pm till 10pm
I've been trying to get transferred to Alberta for two years, it's a quality of life thing.

Just a reminder it's this Saturday.

I now have these papers in stock in Canada.
Ilford-Harman Direct Positive Fibrebase Paper is primarily suited for use in pinhole cameras where exposure and processing in conventional black and white...
