Thank you, Pere. Your reply gives me much information and food for thought. This has, indeed been a great thread as Jac mentioned above.
You would certainly notice a big change in Brisbane from 10...
Good luck, mate.
Holy crap! They were pretty reckless with the radiation in the good ol' days. I reckon it's a pretty good starting point what I've suggested. Everyone will shoot and process it a bit differently...
Here's the Kodak Data Sheet for the film that I suspect it is. They made a dedicated red safelight filter GBX-2 which is a darker red than the Wratten 1A. It won't fog under a 1A if you lower the...
Merg, they look like Eucalyptus leaves. Would that be correct? Your presentation of them is very visually appealing. I am enjoying seeing your pics being posted; they provide valuable lessons in...
I have long had the desire to 3D print flanges, retaining rings, and adapters. I haven't found any evidence that this is not a feasible application. Anyone have any experience in this undertaking?
Austin, you manage to get so much more into your pics than just visual elements. Without exception, I find that they all ooze with some abstract form of sentiment or emotion from deep within. ...
Andrew, your Horse Thief canyon pic speaks volumes....... kudos!
Thank you Jim and John for making this available. Cheers.
For what it's worth Jim, I had similar results many years ago using 20 x 24" graphic arts films which had been stored loose in the box which inadvertently been opened in low level tungsten light...
Thanks, Tom. Your work is appreciated.
Kodak Opaque Red is water based. Wet a brush and work the surface of the opaque until a puddle forms. Good coverage should be achieved on film with the first application and is VERY dependent upon...
Thank you to Brian and Tom (and all concerned) for their tireless efforts in restoring the site. This community is greatly appreciated by me and is a credit to those who work so diligently behind...

Clever, John..... but a tad cryptic for most :)
I wholeheartedly support the philosophy of "once you post it, it's out there forever, and the forum moderators are not obliged to remove it." Make it happen.
The corridors of photographic art are littered with the works of self-appointed "emerging artists" who trade excellence of technique for shock value in order to gain a quick "foot in the door" (viz:...
I believe it is Zach.... it just doesn't have a steering wheel and running boards. From the sound of your technique with the Verito, I think you're well on your way to having it licked.

The "underworld" rendition of colour is admirable, Sergei. However, I would love to see a black and white conversion of this for what it may evoke. :)
God bless you Lauren. You will be sadly missed.
My "mourners" will probably get envelopes containing cash since they'll be from "rent-a-crowd"...
Check that your card reader firmware is SDHC compatible. Some older (and current cheaper) readers are only SD capable. Check if there's a firmware upgrade available. I had the same problem, and with...
SergeiR,
A perfectly executed timeless classic portrait. Your prowess as a photographer is evidenced by your attention to detail and technique and your ability to evoke in this viewer a sense of...
Cheers Welly,
Hope it works well for you.
Be cautious in handling benzotriazole, especially in powdered form. It is extremely toxic so avoid inhaling the powder particles. I recommend you download the MSDS before using.
Count me in to that 99.9%, Allen in Montreal. There is so much to be appreciated in your work Gandolfi, other than the body parts. There's a myriad of technical information hidden away in those...
In the context of your artist statement, the functionality is appropriate and works well.
The need to scroll the oversize images conforms to your premise of "confronting the viewer with a fragment...

Nice job on enlarging the hole, akfreak. What tools did you use?

Tony, I find this page http://www.toyoview.com/LargeFrmtTech/lgformat.html valuable for revising the fundamental principles of corrective camera movements. My apologies if you already know all that...
I doubt that an image only thread would need to be "moderated". Surely the IT gurus could create a script to only upload image code and reject plain text.
Personally, I'm happy to wade through...
Mount your "chosen paper" print onto an uncoated printing stock with all the relevant details printed on it (at home) ....then it can be as rigid as you want and will look like the real thing and be...
Best wishes for your new undertaking Frank. Sounds like a marvelous opportunity and (ad)venture for your class participants....if I wasn't so far away I'd be there!
David,
Although I'm not in the league of most contributors here, I solve filter stacking problems by using a step up ring and oversize filters. Added expense but works a treat.
Rick
Ian, the issues are with the add-ons not plug-ins. Probably just a case of third party offerings being tardy which I do not tolerate. Given time, they will catch up with the changes no doubt.
I'm running 3.6.18 on all my PCs and laptop without drama. I was only offered the upgrade yesterday so perhaps seek it out. Do not run V.4...many add-ons are incompatible with this version but fine...
