Thanks, Randy. The lens seems ok, although the band that holds the metal lens cap got wrecked. The rest of the lens seems ok, but only time will tell.

Yesterday, I cleaned out my office at UW Fox Valley. That led to my bringing my Agfa/Ansco studio stand home. I put my Kodak Century No. 7 camera on it. I'd like to do some portraits with 8x10...
Fomapan 400 + Rodinal, pushed a stop.
Thanks, Jon!

Excellent!
It's Cotton's 10th birthday today:

That's excellent work, Tuco!
My paper arrived today. Now it's time to clean the darkroom and get the paper trimmer setup.
Looks like a kit is available: https://www.amazon.com/BTF-LIGHTING-Natural-Dimming-Controller-Wireless/dp/B0CWP6P3G2
These just plug in:...
I just noticed these high CRI LED strips: https://store.waveformlighting.com/products/d50-5000k-t5-led-linear-light-fixture-for-color-matching-iso3664-2000
It might be possible to use these to...
That's quite a sky, Jon!
Hey, John. I just put in the order for some of the paper, and so I don't have any experience to share yet. Hopefully, I'll have some soon!
I bet it sounds great!
Dave, I'm going to follow your lead. I'll order some MGIV RC 10x8.
That turned out really well!

Yep. It's not difficult. It just takes a bit of patience. That's quite a hot spot, though.
Good one, Jon!
Thanks, John!
I'm interested in trying paper negatives in my studio 8x10 to do portraits. Does 8x10 paper need to be cut down to fit the holders? Is any particular paper more suited to portraits than others? ...
Nice find!
It's really easy to align all of the stages, and in my experience it stays aligned.
Did the enlarger come with the manual? If not, you might want to pick one up.
Good tip, Jim!
And the filters vary. When I replaced the magenta filters on my De Vere head my max contrast jumped from grade 3.5 to 4.5.
With mine, I used Paul Butzi's method to get consistent highlight densities with contrast changes. It's not that hard to do. https://fliphtml5.com/exru/vhtf/basic
Just looking at the pictures, the color head says "Single lamp" on it. It looks like a nicely extensive setup.
Really good, Tuco! I miss my GSW690III. Bob Watkins has had it for years, and he refuses to send it back. :(
Right! It'll be the high contrast light that will tend to be limited. Don't go with a warm color temp.
Why red strips? Those would be very inefficient. The best would probably be violet and green. I guess some red would be ok to use for seeing the image on the paper without causing much density...
This is one of the light sources I made for my scanner. It uses RGB led strips:

Just another idea, you could use something like: https://cheetahstand.com/products/cheetah-quick-max20
Along with an LED monolight, such as:...
Personally, I'd go to 6500K, as that will allow the highest contrast. I'd mount them to an aluminum heat sink. I've used these folks in the past:https://www.heatsinkusa.com/
80-84CRI isn't...
Fun concept, Tuco!
Great description!
I spent a year at the University of St Andrews.....While I was there, it rained most days, but it was brief. What wasn't brief, though, was the wind. The university advised students not to bring...
Nice one!
Thanks, Bryan. Yeah, I think you're right.
