Hello "everybody"
is there an (easy) way to adapt a durst 1200 so it can print the whole 4x5 negative or at least the whole exposed part of it?
Thanks.
I never said something about modified, I'm talking about the quick acting type b.
The Dallmeyer archive calls them improved Petzvals, I don't know if thats the same lens Ross made,
They were made...

Mine is in a sliding mount.

Diameter of front and back combinations, that means diameter of front and back lenses ?
Hello everybody,
I bought this Dallmeyer lens hoping it was an 2D,
But it looks to be a quick acting portrait lens with specifications

Congratulations on this build, looks perfect to me!
Did you mention the weight somewhere?
And a very nice picture of your sister and husband, with great bokeh,
If you get that with a Symmar I...
I've read nothing in this thread about deburring the glass, if you cut the glass yourself or get one with sharp edges it's good to deburr it with a grinding stone or middle fine good quality grinding...
In a way a pity you are not going to use it, but it is very beautiful.
What year was it made?
And keep us posted about the film.
Kees.
Otherwise you can always sleep in it.
I don't know till what time they used an L in the markings, I also don't know when spring backs were first made?
Hello,
On the inside of the reducing back is an indentation (17 x 18,5 cm) with small clamping bows around it.
There are also two small screws and some white marks. (see picture)
Anybody ideas...
Aerostigmat is a tessar design, so you would have two similar lenses.
Learn from the wet plate guys,
You will have to make a fitting groundglass.
Or if you want to take out the whole septum, it will be difficult to secure a groundglass.

I will try to bring some live to this thread again. Just because I want to talk about the camera that I own for little over a week now,
I want to know more about them. And I also want to know...
, Nice, but I expected you would use your Gandolfi.
Anybody tried wet plate?

Very nice endeavour, I could be tempted in making a pelgrimmage and bring a good piece of wood to the old workshop . Nice read this and hope to see the pictures, really do.

Thank you.
This sound s like a very good method, and I'm not commited to tape yet. However the holes in my bellows are to big for this I think, I remember I saw some rubber repair paste or paint for shutters...
Thanks Ian,
These are glued directly to the camera. I don't think the material is leatherette, it looks like cloth with a very fine fabric, especially on the corners. Start to believe there is not...
I must say that this discussion made me aware that multitape might not be the best thing for bellows repair but yesterday I taped some corner light leaks on my "new" Gandolfi with the multitape, hold...
Thanks Steven, sounds like good advice, this morning I tried a damp cloth over a small part and that seems to improve movement a bit, but then you have to keep the moisture in, maybe the Renaissance...
Mine looks like this, not so fancy. and I took the handle off all together. the column will not turn left or right though, it's hold in place by a rod in a ridge in the column.

Lemon pledge, this seems to work well on all kinds of materials, and my bellows aren't made of leather.
Lemon pledge is not sold here, but pledge...
I used it for two years on a Speed Graphic in all conditions without problems, With the shown camera I shoot wetplate and avoid sun as much as possible.
But I just stretched the tape over a led...
When I was writing my last post and I don't write that many, a camera came in.
A beautiful Gandolfi 8x10, I think a Precision,
Everything in fine working order, only the bellows are very stiff,...
You mean the handle to crank the shaft up and down?
You can easely use these tripods without it, just grab the center column loosen the lock and push it up and down with your hands, I think it's...
I was looking for some posts on bellows repair and bellows replacement.
If you don't mind the looks too much and just want light thight bellows again, I can recommend Tesa multitape.

I do get white light, and learned on APUG that the position of the filters is right, thank you.
Hello,
I purchased a Durst laborator 1000 with a CLS450 Colorhead earlier this week.
After sorting out -with a technical friend- some electric problems with the timer,
transformer and head,...
Do you mean something that fits the main barrel exactly or at least part of it and with that try to dislodge the outer stationary ring. I tried that with a little piece of wood. But thought it needed...
Yes Steven you are right. Everything moves away from the back lens. Tried to move the whole diaphragm but did not want to use to much force, I don't know enough for that. So closed he lens today....
Thank you for your reply. I would say lets move it.
I could have been more clear about it but off course you have to remove cemented parts before applying any heat.
The serial number of this lens...
